Boutens ( 1870 – 1943 ), whose Verzen (" Verses ") in 1898 were received with great respect.

Gorter rapidly followed this up with a book of short lyric poetry simply called " Verzen " (" Verses ") in 1890, which, after the initial bad reviews, was equally hailed as a masterpiece.

In 2005, De Jeugd van Tegenwoordig (" The youth of today ") were successful with " Watskeburt?!

A tumultuous year at the Bauhaus, 1922 also saw the move of Dutch painter Theo van Doesburg to Weimar to promote De Stijl (" The Style "), and a visit to the Bauhaus by Russian Constructivist artist and architect El Lissitzky.

The myth was perpetuated by Romeyn de Hooghe's Spiegel van Staat der Vereenigden Nederlanden (" Mirror of the State of the United Netherlands ", 1706 ), which also ran to many editions, and it was revived in the atmosphere of Romantic nationalism in the late eighteenth-century reforms that saw a short-lived Batavian Republic and, in the colony of the Dutch East Indies, a capital ( now Jakarta ) that was named Batavia.

They adopted the term (" the Third Empire " – usually rendered in English in the partial-translation " the Third Reich "), first used in a 1923 novel by Arthur Moeller van den Bruck, that counted the mediaeval Holy Roman Empire as the first and the 1871-1918 monarchy as the second, which was then to be followed by a " reinvigorated " third one.

Dynasties of Parisian ébénistes, some of them German-born, developed a style of surfaces curved in three dimensions ( bombé ), where matched veneers ( marquetry temporarily being in eclipse ) or vernis martin japanning was effortlessly complemented by gilt-bronze (" ormolu ") mounts: Antoine Gaudreau, Charles Cressent, Jean-Pierre Latz, Jean-François Oeben, Bernard II van Risamburgh are the outstanding names.

The house of Maarten van Rossum, a general serving Duke Charles van Gelre, has been the town hall since 1830: The satyrs in its Renaissance ornamentation earned it the name Duivelshuis (" devil's house ").

Some Dutch films have received international distribution and recognition, such as Turkish Delight (" Turks Fruit ") ( 1973 ), Soldier of Orange (" Soldaat van Oranje ") ( 1975 ), Spetters ( 1980 ) and The Fourth Man (" De Vierde Man ") ( 1983 ) by director Paul Verhoeven.

Allegedly, when he first arrived in Holland, he told the people he was the " Konijn van ' Olland " (" Rabbit of ' Olland "), rather than " Koning van Holland " (" King of Holland "), because his Dutch was not very good by then.

Because of the First World War, the family name was changed in 1920 from Saxe-Coburg-Gotha to van België, de Belgique or von Belgien (" of Belgium "), depending upon which of the country's three official languages ( Dutch, French and German ) is in use.

On January 26, 2000, van Vogt died in Los Angeles, USA from Alzheimer's disease, and was survived by his second wife, the former Lydia Bereginsky.

For example Darrell Schweitzer writing to the New York Review of Science Fiction in 1999 quoted a passage from the original van Vogt novelette “ The Mixed Men ”, which he was then reading, and remarked:

The 1971 European Cup final saw Ajax beat Panathinaikos 2-0 with goals from Dick van Dijk and Arie Haan.

Cruijff returned in 1985 as the new manager and Ajax ended the season with 120 goals, of which 37 were from van Basten.

In general it may be said that Cuyp learned tone from the exceptionally prolific van Goyen, light from Both and form from his father.

Cuyp took from van Goyen the straw yellow and light brown tones that are so apparent in his Dunes ( 1629 ) and the broken brush technique also very noticeable in that same work.

His highly influenced style which incorporated Italianate lighting from Jan Both, broken brush technique and atonality from Jan van Goyen, and his ever-developing style from his father Jacob Gerritsz Cuyp was studied acutely by his most prominent follower, Abraham van Calraet.

After this essay was circulated in samizdat and then published outside the Soviet Union ( initially on July 6, 1968, in the Dutch newspaper Het Parool through intermediary of the Dutch academic and writer Karel van het Reve, followed by The New York Times ), Sakharov was banned from all military-related research and returned to FIAN to study fundamental theoretical physics.

Another famous abjuration was brought about by the Plakkaat van Verlatinghe of July 26, 1581, the formal Declaration of Independence of the Low Countries from the Spanish king, Philip II.

The school existed in three German cities ( Weimar from 1919 to 1925, Dessau from 1925 to 1932 and Berlin from 1932 to 1933 ), under three different architect-directors: Walter Gropius from 1919 to 1928, Hannes Meyer from 1928 to 1930 and Ludwig Mies van der Rohe from 1930 until 1933, when the school was closed by its own leadership under pressure from the Nazi regime.

Monsters, spells, and magic items used in the game have been inspired by hundreds of individual works such as A. A physically imposing, deliberative, and reticent man, Ludwig Mies renamed himself as part of his rapid transformation from a tradesman's son to an architect working with Berlin's cultural elite, adding " van der " and his mother's surname " Rohe ", using the Dutch " van der ", rather than the German form " von " which was legally restricted to those of genuine aristocratic lineage.

This medal set a historical precedent in Haarlem for commemorative medals ; Sypesteyn's son Cornelis Ascanius van Sypesteyn ( 1723-1788 ) later became the founding director of the learned society Hollandsche Maatschappij der Wetenschappen and its offshoot, the " Oeconomische Tak ", and he hired Holtzhey's son Johann Georg to commission prize medals for both societies.

They landed and decided to name the island " Prins Maurits van Nassaueiland ", after Prince Maurits ( Latin version: Mauritius ) of the House of Nassau, the stadtholder of Holland, but also after the main vessel of the fleet which was called " Mauritius ".
