The largest Unitarian denomination worldwide today is also the oldest surviving Unitarian denomination ( since 1565, first use of the term " Unitarian " 1600 ); the Unitarian Church of Transylvania ( in Romania, which is union with the Unitarian Church in Hungary ).

The first book sketches briefly the history of the early Roman emperors from Augustus to Diocletian ( 305 ); the second, third and fourth deal more fully with the period from the accession of Constantius Chlorus and Galerius to the death of Theodosius I ; the fifth and sixth, the most useful for historians, cover the period between 395 and 410, when Priscus Attalus was deposed ; for this period, he is the most important surviving non-ecclesiastical source.

By comparison, the Alexandrian text-type is witnessed by nine surviving uncials earlier than the ninth century ( including the Codex Alexandrinus outside the Gospels ); and is also usually considered to be demonstrated in three earlier papyri.

The earliest Church Father to witness to a Byzantine text-type in substantial New Testament quotations is John Chrysostom ( c. 349 — 407 ); although the fragmentary surviving works of Asterius the Sophist († 341 ) have also been considered to conform to the Byzantine text.

Recent scholarship has noted that, although surviving early examples are now uncommon, human figurative art was a continuous tradition in Islamic lands in secular contexts ( such as literature, science, and history ); as early as the 9th century, such art flourished during the Abbasid Caliphate ( c. 749-1258, across Spain, North Africa, Egypt, Syria, Turkey, Mesopotamia, and Persia ).

Among twenty surviving manuscripts are those compiled at St Benet Holme, Norfolk, continued at Tintern Abbey ( Royal Mss 14. c. 6 ); at Norwich ( Cottonian Claudius E 8 ); Rochester ( Cottonian Nero D 2 ); St Paul's, London ( Lambeth Mss 1106 ); St Mary's, Southwark ( Bodleian Library, Rawlinson Mss B 177 ); and at St Augustine's, Canterbury ( Harleian Mss 641 ).

Of the eleven surviving ancient accounts that mention the Sacred Band by name, he separates them into two groups: The five " non-erotic " accounts that do not mention that the Sacred Band was composed of lovers ( e. g. Diodorus ); and the six " erotic " accounts which do ( of which Plutarch's is the most complete ).

Paulo Evaristo Arns is the most senior member of the College by length of service ( the Protopriest ); he is the last surviving from the 1973 consistory.

The present-day Separate Baptists in Christ descend from that association and others organized by it, which consists of the following surviving associations: Nolynn ( KY, 1819 ); Ambraw ( IL, 1844 ); Northern Indiana ( IN, 1854 ); Central Indiana ( IN, 1870 );

The earliest surviving edition ( c. 1553 ) was printed at London by William Copland ( d. 1569 ); an Edinburgh edition, from the press of Henry Charteris ( d. 1599 ), followed in 1579.

These included the early church's Presiding Patriarch and Apostle William Smith ( Joseph's only surviving brother ); Book of Mormon witness Martin Harris ( who left and later rejoined the LDS Church in Utah ); Nauvoo Stake President William Marks ; second Bishop of the Church and church trustee-in-trust George Miller, Apostle John E. Page ; former Apostle William M ' Lellin ; and many others.

Other early versions of mechanical devices used to perform one or another type of calculations include the planisphere and other mechanical computing devices invented by Abū Rayhān al-Bīrūnī ( c. AD 1000 ); the equatorium and universal latitude-independent astrolabe by Abū Ishāq Ibrāhīm al-Zarqālī ( c. AD 1015 ); the astronomical analog computers of other medieval Muslim astronomers and engineers ; and the astronomical clock tower of Su Song ( c. AD 1090 ) during the Song Dynasty.

He then ascended to the 27th floor of the tower ( the highest floor the elevator reached ); just one floor beneath the clock face.

One popular form of castle was the motte and bailey, in which earth would be piled up into a mound ( called a motte ) to support a wooden tower, and a wider enclosed area built alongside it ( called a bailey ); Stafford Castle is a typical example of a post-invasion motte castle.

Among other sights in Hrodna and its environs, we should mention the Orthodox cathedral, a polychrome Russian Revival extravaganza from 1904 ; the botanical garden, the first in the Polish – Lithuanian Commonwealth, founded in 1774 ; a curiously curved building on the central square ( 1780s ); a 254-metre-high TV tower ( 1984 ); and Stanisławów, a summer residence of the last Polish king.

the new terminal design includes: construction of a new terminal building, installation of jet bridges, a new modern control tower, increase in aircraft apron parking positions from five to eight in phase 1 of the project and then to twelve in phase 2 ; development of a Fixed Base Operation ( FBO ); redevelopment and relocation of a new air cargo facility ; and construction of a new car park and road infrastructure network.

Early designs envisaged a tower of 137 m ( 450 ft ); this developed into a design with a 197 m ( 647 ft ) tower as its centrepiece, proposed in 1964 by architect Richard Seifert.

Other notable buildings are the former pier house with clock tower ( 1885 ); the ' Crafts Made in Arran ' Shop ( late 19th century ); the early 19th century Pier of red rubble blocks ; the Sea Gate, part of the former Steamer Pier Office ( 1902 ) and the Bay Hotel, the latter being a good example of an early Victorian villa.

Historical buildings in and around the town include the pentagonal Pillau Citadel, founded by the Swedes in 1626, completed by the Prussians in 1670, renovated in 1870 and currently holding a naval museum ; the ruins of the 13th-century Lochstadt Castle ; a maze of 19th-century naval fortifications ; the Naval Cathedral of St. George ( 1866 ); the 32-metre Expressionist observation tower ( 1932 ); the Gothic Revival building of the Baltic Fleet Museum ( 1903 ); and an elegant lighthouse, dating from 1813-1816.

The heraldic blazon for the coat of arms of the barony is: Quarterly: 1st and 4th, gules, semée of cross crosslets fitchée or two lions passant guardant in pale argent ( for Acton ); 2nd, quarterly: 1st and 4th, azure, six fleurs-de-lis three two and one argent, a chief dancetty of the last ; 2nd and 3rd, or, a cross patonce gules ; over all an escutcheon gules thereon a tower argent, a chief dancetty of the last ( for Dalberg ); 3rd, azure, a lion passant or between three plates each charged with a griffin's head erased sable ( for Lyon ).

Distinctive features of American Queen Anne style ( rooted in the English style ) may include an asymmetrical facade ; dominant front-facing gable, often cantilevered out beyond the plane of the wall below ; overhanging eaves ; round, square, or polygonal tower ( s ); shaped and Dutch gables ; a porch covering part or all of the front facade, including the primary entrance area ; a second-story porch or balconies ; pedimented porches ; differing wall textures, such as patterned wood shingles shaped into varying designs, including resembling fish scales, terra cotta tiles, relief panels, or wooden shingles over brickwork, etc.

The park includes a conservatory ( a designated city landmark ), completed in 1912 ; a water tower with an observation deck, built by the Water Department in 1906, a fenced-off reservoir ; the dramatic Art deco building of the Seattle Asian Art Museum ( a designated city landmark ); a statue of William H. Seward ; and a sculpture, Black Sun, by Isamu Noguchi ( colloquially referred to as " The Doughnut ") around which a scenic view of the Seattle skyline that prominently includes the Space Needle can be seen, as well as several meadows and picnic tables.

Carrera is also remembered as the inventor of chess variant ( Carrera's chess ) on an 8x10 chessboard, in which there were added two new pieces called the " Champion " ( a combination of the moves of the tower ( rook ) and the knight ) and " Centaurus " ( a combination of the bishop and the knight ); these innovations had more fame than the ones made by Piacenza and Marinelli.
