Also in 1977, Ultravox member Warren Cann purchased a Roland TR-77 drum machine, which was first featured in their October 1977 single release " Hiroshima Mon Amour ".

The Roland TR-808 Rhythm Composer was one of the first programmable drum machines (" TR " serving as an initialism for Transistor Rhythm ).

Like earlier Roland drum machines, it does not sound very much like a real drum kit.

In December 1914, French aviator Roland Garros asked Saulnier to install his synchronization gear on Garros ' Morane-Saulnier Type L. Unfortunately the gas-operated Hotchkiss machine gun he was provided had an erratic rate of fire and it was impossible to synchronize it with a spinning propeller.

While planes had already been used in the war for scouting, on 1 April the French pilot Roland Garros became the first to shoot down an enemy plane by using a machine gun that fired forward through the propeller blades.

There was also a Roland Garros special edition with a White leather interior and metallic green paintwork, this model was only made in the Ryton factory.

In August 2009, Roland released the Roland AX-Synth, a model of keytar that contains its own synthesizer sounds in addition to being a MIDI controller.

In 1997, Roland put into market its TD-10 model, which had two important innovations.
