His aggregate for the season was 2, 739 and this was the first time that anyone had scored 2, 000 first-class runs in a season ; Harry Jupp was next best with 1, 068.

He finished with 71 and 48 in the Sixth Test to overtake Neil Harvey for the third-highest series aggregate in Test history and totalled 1, 669 first-class runs for the tour.

In all first-class cricket his aggregate was 2, 042 runs at 37. 81.

Shortly after making the decision, he returned to form, scoring a century and passing, in his next game, W. G. Grace's record aggregate of runs in a first-class career.

In all first-class matches, he scored 1, 168 runs at an average of 64. 88, the highest aggregate among the tourists, and accumulated five centuries.

Another century followed for Yorkshire against the Australians, taking his first-class run aggregate to 782 runs at an average of 48. 87 in nine games.

Having finished third in 1907, Yorkshire went through the 1908 season unbeaten and bowled Northamptonshire out for 27 and 15, the aggregate score of 42 being the lowest in English first-class cricket.

He also scored over 600 runs in the season, his highest aggregate to date, including three fifties – his first in English first-class cricket.

His first-class record is even more impressive, with a batting average of 58. 38 for his 18, 740 runs ( highest first-class aggregate for an Indian player after Sunil Gavaskar, Sachin Tendulkar and Rahul Dravid ).

He totalled 1, 387 runs in first-class games at an average of 66. 04, the highest aggregate and average of his career.

In the entire first-class tour, he scored four centuries to aggregate 1129 runs at 53. 76.

Second only to Wilfred Rhodes in his aggregate of first-class wickets, Freeman accumulated his in little more than half as many matches.

His aggregate of 3061 first-class wickets is the greatest for any bowler of medium pace or above, and his 257 wickets in 1896 is the tenth highest total on record.

In 2011 Wallace became the first Glamorgan wicket-keeper to ever score a thousand first-class runs in a season surpassing Jimmy Stone's record aggregate set in 1923 along the way.

From 1895 through to his final season in 1914, Hayward never once failed to reach 1, 000 first-class runs, passing 2, 000 on ten occasions and twice ( in 1904 and 1906 ) scoring over 3, 000 ; his 1906 aggregate of 3, 518 ( at 66. 37 with 13 hundreds ) established a record which stood until surpassed by Denis Compton and Bill Edrich in 1947.

In all first-class matches, he made seven centuries, and his run aggregate was second only to Lawry, who made 2, 019 runs.

His season was rather mixed: in first-class cricket he took 18 wickets at 44. 22, and claimed his first five-wicket haul in taking 5 for 77 against the Pakistanis in July, but in the one-day games he struggled, recording an aggregate analysis of 29-0-181-0.

In 1996-97 after having a poor time in the List A Shell / Sandals Trophy where he took only four wickets at 57. 50, he was perhaps a little lucky to be chosen for the Australian tour, and he proved very expensive in the pre-Test first-class games, with aggregate figures of 4-291 in four matches.

In first-class cricket, he scored 19, 399 runs at 33. 97, took 1, 172 wickets at 27. 22 and held 354 catches.

Two hijackers, Hani Hanjour and Majed Moqed were identified by clerks as having bought single, first-class tickets for Flight 77 from Advance Travel Service in Totowa, New Jersey with $ 1, 842. 25 in cash.

He made 24 first-class appearances in the season, scoring 1, 151 runs, with a highest score of 116, at an average of 28. 77 with 1 century and 5 half-centuries.

* September 12 – Cricket player Wilfred Rhodes ends his 1, 110-game first-class career by taking 5 for 95 for H. D. G.

Returning to Australia, Taylor made 1, 403 first-class runs at 70. 15 during the 1989 – 90 season, and ended 1989 with 1, 219 Test runs, thus becoming the first player to better one thousand Test runs in his debut calendar year, something only matched once by England opener Alastair Cook over 15 years later.

Bradman completed the season with 1, 690 first-class runs, averaging 93. 88, and his first multiple century in a Sheffield Shield match, 340 not out against Victoria, set a new ground record for the SCG.

However, Bradman began the tour with 236 at Worcester and went on to score 1, 000 first-class runs by the end of May, the fifth player ( and first Australian ) to achieve this rare feat.

Playing 26 innings on tour, Bradman recorded 13 centuries ( a new Australian record ) and again made 1, 000 first-class runs before the end of May, becoming the only player to do so twice.

After two first-class matches against Sri Lankan domestic teams over the winter of 1977-78, in which he scored 76 runs at 38. 00 in first-class and a score of 22 in the only one day fixture, Gower topped 1, 000 runs in a season for the first time in his career, scoring 1098 runs at 37. 86 including two hundreds, five fifties and a call up to the national team.

He played 46 Test matches between 1948 and 1959, taking 193 wickets with a bowling average of 21. 24 ; in all first-class matches he took 1, 944 wickets at 18. 41.

* Business Class ( formerly Via 1 class ) — This is the first-class seating available on most trains in southern Quebec and southern Ontario.

In all first-class cricket in the season, Hobbs scored 1, 317 runs at an average of 25. 82, including two centuries and four other scores over fifty.

In all first-class games, Hobbs scored 1, 904 runs at 37. 33.

However, the series was lost when England were defeated in the fourth match ; Hobbs scored 0 and 1, the only time in his Test career that he failed to reach double figures in either innings, and his worst return in first-class cricket.

Hobbs scored 1, 124 first-class runs at an average of 66. 11 on the tour, while in the Test matches, he scored 539 runs at 67. 37.

" In all first-class matches, he scored 1, 489 runs at 74. 45.

Early in the season, a string of centuries, including a run of four in consecutive innings, made him the first batman to reach 1, 000 runs that season and brought him close to Grace's record of 126 first-class hundreds.

The death toll of 151 consisted of 148 second-class passengers, 1 first-class passenger, the engine driver Charles Parker, and the fireman Lance Redman.

* 1907 – George Dennett, aided by Gilbert Jessop, dismisses Northamptonshire for 12 runs, the lowest total in first-class cricket.

Benaud scored his maiden first-class century, 117 against South Australia, in the next match, two years after falling short of the milestone by seven runs.

The following Australian season in 1952-53, Benaud started modestly and in the five first-class matches before the Tests, scored 208 runs at 26. 00 including a 63 and 69, and 14 wickets at 38. 64.

He finished the first-class tour with 627 runs and 61 wickets at 23. 54.

He is one of only 10 Australian cricketers to have scored more than 10, 000 runs and taken over 500 wickets in first-class cricket.

As late as 1902, though aged 54 by the end of the season, he scored 1187 runs in first-class cricket, with two centuries, at an average of 37. 09.

** Hedley Verity establishes a new first-class cricket record by taking all ten wickets for only ten runs against Nottinghamshire on a pitch affected by a storm.

:;… when the batting side are playing for a draw: when a team is a long way behind in a first-class game and there is not much time left to play, it becomes more important to bowl out the side and finish the game than to control runs.

Against Queensland at the SCG, Bradman set a then world record for first-class cricket by scoring 452 not out ; he made his runs in only 415 minutes.

Bradman's first-class tally, 2, 960 runs ( at an average of 98. 66 with 10 centuries ), was another enduring record: the most by any overseas batsman on a tour of England.

Nevertheless, he ended with an impressive record in first-class cricket, having accumulated 26, 339 runs at 40. 08, and 53 centuries.
