Adult fish are a rich orange in color, whereas juvenile fish are redder and have many small blue spots.

Apart from the holotype and paratype, the most significant specimens are: NHM R5829, the skeleton of a large animal ; NHM R5830 and NHM R196 / 196a, both skeletons of juvenile animals ; and NHM R2477, a block with a skull together with two separate vertebral columns.

The nearly-complete skeleton is that of a juvenile and partial remains from three other individuals were also recovered.

The dig uncovered a partial skull ( UA 8698, the holotype specimen ), another partial skull, a juvenile skeleton missing only a few tail vertebrae, and an unrelated vertebra.

The juvenile skeleton, in particular, is the most complete titanosaur skeleton ever recovered and the only one with a head still attached to the body.

A specimen of R. robustus has been discovered with the fragmentary skeleton of a juvenile Psittacosaurus preserved in its stomach.

It consists of a partially articulated largely complete skeleton with skull of a juvenile individual.
