His book The Dilbert Principle – A Cubicle ’ s Eye View of Bosses, Meetings, Management Fads & Other Workplace Afflictions discusses the foibles of management and their plans as depicted in the Dilbert comic strips by Scott Adams.

As part of this requirement, the ED asked Dr. Marilyn J. Adams to produce a report on the role of phonics instruction in beginning reading, which resulted in her 1994 book Beginning to Read: Thinking and Learning about Print.

In the book, Adams asserted that existing scientific research supported that phonics is an effective method for teaching students to read at the word level.

Adams admitted that while he originally planned on writing a third Dirk Gently book, the ideas which he had for it would have fit better into another Hitchhiker's book: " A lot of the stuff which was originally in The Salmon of Doubt really wasn't working ", and he planned on " salvaging some of the ideas that I couldn't make work in a Dirk Gently framework and putting them in a Hitchhiker framework ... and for old time's sake I may call it The Salmon of Doubt.

Everything is going well for them until they meet Alyssa Jones ( Joey Lauren Adams ) at a comic book convention in New York where they are promoting their comic Bluntman and Chronic.

Mostly Harmless is a novel by Douglas Adams and the fifth book in the Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy trilogy.

It was the last Hitchhiker's book written by Adams.

In an interview reprinted in The Salmon of Doubt, Adams expressed dissatisfaction with the " rather bleak " tone of this book: " People have said, quite rightly, that Mostly Harmless is a very bleak book.
