Much of Mostaert's work was destroyed in the great fire of Haarlem in 1576, and some paintings once attributed to him are now attributed to Adriaen Isenbrant.

Adriaen ( Aerjan ) Block ( c. 1567 – April 27, 1627 ( buried )) was a Dutch private trader and navigator who is best known for exploring the coastal and river valley areas between present-day New Jersey and Massachusetts during four voyages from 1611 to 1614, following the 1609 expedition by Henry Hudson.

In his De Groote Schouburgh ( 1718 – 21 ), Arnold Houbraken mentions Philips Wouwerman, Adriaen Brouwer, Pieter Gerritsz van Roestraten, Adriaen van Ostade and Dirck van Delen as students.

Adriaen Brouwer ( 1605 – January 1638 ) was a Flemish genre painter active in Flanders and the Dutch Republic in the seventeenth century.

Adriaen van Ostade ( baptized as Adriaen Jansz Hendricx December 10, 1610 – buried May 2, 1685 ) was a Dutch Golden Age painter of genre works.

Adriaen Pietersz van de Venne ( 1589 – November 12, 1662 ), was a versatile Dutch Golden Age painter of allegories, genre subjects and portraits, as well as a miniaturist, book-illustrator and designer of political satires and a versifier.

This grant was purchased in July 1645 by Adriaen van der Donck, a lawyer, scholar, and author who had emerged as a leader of the New Netherland colony.

A condition of the separation was that the Elder could recover from his son Adriaen ‘ two royal gifts ’, presumably gifts from Charles II for work done in England .” Cordingly ’ s account further relates that the dispute was still continuing after another ten years, since “ in the autumn of 1672 Judith complained to the woman ’ s husband .” Robinson adds that by 1674 the couple “ must have been reconciled ”, for at a chance meeting with Pieter Blaeu in Amsterdam in July the Elder explained that he was only visiting for a few days “ in order to fetch his wife ”.

On May 28, 1653, Bennebroek split off from the Heemstede fiefdom and Adriaen Pauw ( 1622-1697 ), son of Adriaan Pauw, became its first feudal lord.

One of these died shortly after birth, the others were named Adriaen ( 1637 ), Neeltje ( 1639 ) and Aelken ( 1642 ).

They were Willem van Ripperda ( Overijssel ), Frans van Donia ( Friesland ), Adriaen Clant tot Stedum ( Groningen ), Adriaen Pauw and Jan van Mathenesse ( Holland ), Barthold van Gent ( Gelderland ), Johan de Knuyt ( Zeeland ), and Godert van Reede ( Utrecht ).

Hadrianus Junius, otherwise known as Adriaen de Jonghe, wrote this story around 1567 in his book Batavia, published only in 1588, and was quoted by Cornelis de Bie.

The area was briefly visited by Dutch explorer Adriaen Block in 1614.

De Ruyter was born in 1607 in Flushing ( Vlissingen ) as the son of beer porter Adriaen Michielszoon and Aagje Jansdochter Little is known about De Ruyter's early life, but he probably became a sailor at the age of 11.

Giambologna was an important influence on later sculptors through his pupils Adriaen de Vries and Pietro Francavilla who left his atelier for Paris in 1601, as well as Pierre Puget who spread Giambologna's influence throughout Northern Europe, and in Italy on Pietro Tacca, who assumed Giambologna's workshop in Florence, and in Rome on Gian Lorenzo Bernini and Alessandro Algardi.
