In Disney's Aladdin ( 1992 ), the Genie character voiced by Robin Williams performs the gesture while mimicking the physical appearance of Hall.

The film centers on Jafar, the villain from the original film, trying to gain his revenge against Aladdin and his companions, Princess Jasmine, Genie, Abu, Carpet, the Sultan, and Iago ( now turned against Jafar ), and become the ruler of Agrabah.

This was the first and only Aladdin full-length production without the original voice of Genie, Robin Williams.

Robin Williams returned to voice the Genie after Disney apologized for the use of his likeness in the promotion of the original Aladdin film ( Williams believed Disney had broken the terms of his contract ).

Aladdin, Abu, Jasmine and the Genie discover the Oracle, who has the power to answer a single question about absolutely anything to any individual.

The Sultan prepares to punish Aladdin, but Genie and Jasmine come to his defense, stating that all he wanted was to give his father a second chance.
