The-acre campus sits on the Allegheny Plateau at roughly, on the site of the former Caneadea Indian Reservation.

Civil War battlefields, national parks, agriculture, and restaurants featuring local food are all part of the culture of the Shenandoah Valley, bounded by the Allegheny Mountains to the west and the Blue Ridge chain to the east, which are both visible from campus.

The south edge of campus lies on the Allegheny River.

About from the main campus, the university also has the opportunity to experience the Franciscan eremitical tradition in the Allegheny Mountain foothills in western Clarksville, New York, at a community called Mount Irenaeus.

Bethany's 1, 300 acre campus is located in the northern panhandle of West Virginia, situated on the hilly Allegheny Plateau.

Because archaeological evidence suggests that ancient cultures were distinct and separate from more recent historic Native American cultures, academic accounts do not propose the Allegheny Nation built the Serpent Mound.

The city is on the Allegheny Plateau, where the confluence of the Allegheny River from the northeast and Monongahela River from the southeast form the Ohio River.
