Little Aston's small community is divided between four main areas: Little Aston Park, Little Aston Lane, Forge Lane and the Little Aston Hall Estate.

Other industrial facilities in the area by the start of the 20th century included the Lepping Forge iron and steel works at the junction of Leppings Lane and Penistone Road, built by Joseph Clifton Allen ( died 1924 ).

The school was merged with Myers Grove School which was also demolished to form the new Forge Valley Community School on Wood Lane at Malin Bridge.

The forge still stands today on Forge Lane and is a Grade-II-listed building ; it has been renovated in recent years and turned into several apartments within a new housing development.
