On the exterior wall of the " Hôpital Necker – Enfants Malades ", where Laennec wrote Mediate auscultation, near the entrance of the hospital in 149, Rue de Sèvres, there is a marble memorial tablet with an engraved portrait of Laennec and this inscription: " Dans cet hôpital Laennec découvrit l ' auscultation.

The obverse of George IV's penny shows a rather fine left-facing laureated head engraved by William Wyon after the king expressed a dislike for the one engraved by Benedetto Pistrucci which was used on the farthing, inscribed, while the reverse shows a right-facing seated Britannia with a shield and trident, inscribed.

This stamp was a 3 ¢ issue bearing a rather amateurish drawing of George Washington, printed from line engraved plates in sheets of 42 images.

They consisted of an engraved 5-cent red brown stamp depicting Benjamin Franklin ( the first postmaster of the U. S .), and a 10-cent value in black with George Washington.

The US president George Washington presented him with a special " peace medal ", a large oval of silver plate engraved with an image of Washington on the right-hand side shaking Red Jacket's hand ; below was inscribed " George Washington ", " Red Jacket ", and " 1792 ".
