The original Apple Computer, also known retroactively as the Apple I, or Apple-1, is a personal computer released by the Apple Computer Company ( now Apple Inc .) in 1976.

The Apple I was Apple's first product, and to finance its creation, Jobs sold his only means of transportation, a VW van and Wozniak sold his HP-65 calculator for $ 500.

The Apple I went on sale in July 1976 at a price of, because Wozniak " liked repeating digits " and because they originally sold it to a local shop for $ 500 plus a one-third markup.

Unlike other hobbyist computers of its day, which were sold as kits, the Apple I was a fully assembled circuit board containing about 60 + chips.

This made the Apple I an innovative machine for its day.

As Wozniak was the only person who could answer most customer support questions about the computer, the company offered Apple I owners discounts and trade-ins for Apple IIs to persuade them to return their computers, contributing to their scarcity.

As of 2012, less than 50 Apple I computers ( with only six in working order ) are believed to exist, making it a very rare collector's item.

Several Apple 1 replicas and kits have been sold in limited quantities in recent years, by different builders, such as the " Replica 1 ", from Briel Computers:.

McGee formed Creation Records following the culmination of various projects including fanzine Communication Blur, his own rock outfit The Laughing Apple ( with future Primal Scream guitarist and long-time friend Andrew Innes ) and his running of the venue The Communication Club.

That summer Macworld returned to Boston as the BCEC's first trade show, but the show's reduced size, due in part to lack of participation by Apple, relegated its 2005 meeting ( its last ) to the smaller Hynes Convention Center in Boston's Back Bay.

The song " The Apple Dumpling Gang ", as heard in the opening and closing credits, was composed by Shane Tatum and was sung by Randy Sparks and The Back Porch Majority.

Through Harrison's invitation, Preston had guested on keyboards for The Beatles once the Get Back / Let It Be sessions were relocated to their own Apple Studio, in central London, where the 22-year-old Texan had impressed all the participants with his superior musicianship and convivial presence.
