TOCs may use what they like: examples include Futura ( Stagecoach Group ), Helvetica ( FirstGroup and National Express ), Frutiger ( Arriva Trains Wales ), Bliss ( CrossCountry, an Arriva franchise but not branded as such ), and a modified version of Precious by London Midland.

Arriva Trains Wales provide regular services to Shrewsbury, Hereford, Newport, Cardiff and Manchester.

The village is located in the community of Penrhyndeudraeth, on the estuary of the River Dwyryd, south east of Porthmadog, and from the railway station at Minffordd, which is served by both the narrow gauge Ffestiniog Railway and Arriva Trains Wales ( Cambrian Line ).

Normal scheduled departures from Chester Station are: multiple services on the North Wales Coast Line ; Virgin Trains to London Euston via Crewe ; Arriva Trains Wales to Manchester Piccadilly via Warrington Bank Quay and Cardiff Central / Birmingham New Street via Wrexham General ; Northern Rail to Manchester Piccadilly via Northwich ; Merseyrail to Liverpool on the Wirral Line.

Today Beeston has good rail transport links with Beeston station, on the Midland Main Line, served by East Midlands Trains and Arriva Cross Country.

There is a railway station in Frodsham which is managed by Arriva Trains Wales.

The first part of this was done in 2001 when the Birmingham New Street – Chester & Mid Wales and Cambrian Coast Line was transferred into what is now the Arriva Trains Wales franchise.

The services are currently operated by Arriva Trains Wales.

On 1 August 2003 the Strategic Rail Authority awarded the new franchise to Arriva with the services operated by Wales & Borders transferring to Arriva Trains Wales on 7 December 2003.

Arriva Trains Northern ( legal name Arriva Trains Northern Limited, company no 3007932 ) was a train operating company in the United Kingdom owned by Arriva that operated the Regional Railways North East franchise from February 2000 until December 2004.

Arriva Trains Northern operated a mix of long distance regional, local urban and rural passenger services in the North of England and Yorkshire extending across the Pennines.

The long distance regional services connecting Sunderland, Newcastle, Scarborough and Hull with Manchester, Liverpool and Blackpool North railway station were operated under the TransPennine Express banner, the rest as Arriva Trains Northern.

Arriva Trains Northern's non TransPennine Express routes were similar to Northern's current Routes 1-5, 7 and 8.

During the first half of the franchise period, Arriva Trains Northern suffered many problems.

Arriva Trains Northern inherited a fleet of Class 142, Class 144, Class 150, Class 155, Class 156, Class 158, Class 308 and Class 321s from Northern Spirit.

Arriva Trains Merseyside inherited a fleet of Class 73, Class 507 and Class 508s from Merseyrail Electrics.

In 2008 Stagecoach Merseyside introduced a Magic Bus service competing with themselves and Arriva on the busy route 14 corridor, Magic Bus 14C runs every 7 / 8 minutes between City Centre and Broadway.

Arriva also received Enviro400s for their UK operations, Arriva Merseyside relaunched their Wirral-Liverpool ' Cross River ' services with a batch of 23 in January 2009, and a further batch of 12 were introduced to Arriva Merseyside's cross-Liverpool service 60 linking Bootle with Aigburth in September 2009.

Services are operated by Arriva North West, Stagecoach Merseyside and HTL Buses.

Arriva Trains Wales () ( legal name Arriva Trains Wales / Treanau Arriva Cymru Limited ) is a train operating company in the United Kingdom owned by Arriva operating the Wales & Borders franchise.

In December 2005, the name NoordNed was replaced by Arriva on all the trains and buses.

The Merseyrail name became the official brand for the network in the days of British Rail, surviving several franchise holders, although the name was not used by Arriva when holding the franchise.

LDT's name was changed to Arriva the Shires in 1998.

Vehicles and publicity for the Milton Keynes operation continued to use the MK Metro name until April 2010, when they were rebranded as Arriva Milton Keynes ( temporarily using the brand name MK Star ).

Wrexham, Shropshire and Marylebone Railway and Grand Central Railway Company Limited expressed an interest in operating the service, but the contract was awarded to Arriva Trains Wales.

Unlike the system it replaces, the buses are owned and operated by a single company with the drivers working for Arriva Malta.

The most complete first-class experience is offered by long-distance train operators, such as East Coast ( train operating company ) and Virgin Trains and also the Arriva Trains Wales " North-South Premier Service ", especially on weekday morning and evening trains on high-volume routes, where it is targeted at business travellers.

A local independent company, Chester-le-Track, has operated the station since 1999, as an agent for Northern Spirit, Arriva Trains Northern and Northern Rail.

Following the decision by Arriva to discontinue its operations in Crawley and most of East Surrey and West Sussex in March 2001, Metrobus purchased Arriva's premises in Crawley, moved the company headquarters ( along with all non-London routes ) there and began to develop a commercial bus network in the town.

Ever since 3rd July 2011, these buses have been used in Malta by the company Arriva on lines 11, 12, 13, 41, X1, X2, X3, X4 and X6.

Arriva purchased the MTL operating company in 2000 and has operated the majority of the routes since.

They have also protested against the Welsh train company Arriva Trains Wales for the lack of use of the Welsh language on its services, and the holiday agents Thomas Cook for banning the use of Welsh in its Bangor branch in 2007.

The former regional franchisee Arriva Trains Northern initiated a twice daily Leeds – Glasgow Central service in 1999 ( calling at Settle, Appleby, Carlisle, Lockerbie and Motherwell ), but this was withdrawn at the behest of the Strategic Rail Authority in 2003, and there remains no link from Yorkshire or the East Midlands to Glasgow over the line.

There are no heavy or light train links in Blackwood, despite Arriva Trains Wales services operating to / from Cardiff from Pengam, a short walk away from the town centre.
