Donald Ross Getty, OC, AOE ( born August 30, 1933 ) is a retired Canadian politician who served as the 11th Premier of Alberta between 1985 and 1992.
Getty was appointed Premier November 1, 1985 and returned to the legislature just over a month later in an Edmonton-Whitemud by-election.
As Premier for nearly seven years, Getty presided over some of Alberta's toughest economic times.
When Getty became Premier he left his predecessor's cabinet completely intact.

In 1989, under strain from the troubling and complex wrangling surrounding the Meech Lake Accord and constitutional amendment talks, Alberta Premier Don Getty called for a Senate election.
