Aslan confronts Digory with his responsibility for bringing Jadis into his young world, and tells Digory he must atone by helping to protect Narnia from her evil.

Aslan transforms the cabbie's horse into a winged horse named Fledge, and Digory and Polly fly on him to a garden high in the mountains.

Aslan returns Digory, Polly, and Uncle Andrew to England ; Frank and his wife, Helen ( transported from England by Aslan ) stay to rule Narnia as its first King and Queen.

Queen Jadis resembles the Biblical Satan, as Aslan describes her as the first evil brought into the Narnia and Jadis later tempts Digory to eat one of the forbidden apples in the garden, as does Satan, disguised as a serpent, tempt Adam and Eve into eating a forbidden fruit in the Garden of Eden.

During a failed attempt by Digory to transfer Jadis from London in our world back to her own world of Charn, the group arrived in the unmade darkness of Narnia just prior to Aslan calling it into being this was Narnia's Age of Conquest.

Aware that the evil Witch-Queen Jadis had entered his new land, Aslan sent Digory to retrieve a magic apple from a garden in the Western Wild beyond Narnia.

When Digory returned, the apple was planted by the river where it immediately grew into a tree which, as Aslan explained, would protect Narnia from Jadis for many years.

Aslan allowed Digory to take an apple from the new tree back to our world for his ill mother.

Digory resolves to take her back to Charn after she causes havoc in London, but instead brings her ( and Uncle Andrew, and a cabbie and his horse ) into the newly-created Narnia, where she runs away after failing to hurt Aslan with a crossbar she broke off a London lamppost.

After returning home and being confined to her room for missing dinner, Polly helps Digory return Jadis to the Wood and thence to the new world of Narnia, where they witness the creation of the world by Aslan.

Polly, Digory, and a cabby and his horse ( who were brought along by mistake ) are the only ones not alarmed by Aslan or his singing ( Jadis and Uncle Andrew are both terrified ).

Aslan gave Digory an apple from the newly planted tree to heal his sick mother.

Aslan promises the apple will now bring joy.

From this apple grows a magical tree, which Aslan promises will keep the Witch at bay for nine hundred Narnian years ( because Jadis stole an apple, which gave her desired immortality, but " despair with it ").

The following morning the Stone Table is broken and Aslan is restored to life, explaining to Lucy and Susan that it is due to " deeper magic from before the dawn of time " ( which the Witch did not know about ), ruling that if an innocent was killed in the place of a traitor, the Stone Table would break and the innocent would be brought back to life.
