Edward Sutton, 2nd Baron Dudley married Cecily Willoughby, granddaughter of Katherine Neville, Duchess of Norfolk, by whom he had issue: Eleanor, Margaret, Jane ( Joan ), Catherine, Joyce, Dorothy, Elizabeth, Constancia, Alice and John ( John Sutton, 3rd Baron Dudley ), Edward, Thomas, William, Arthur, Geoffrey, and George.

The Burbidges worked at Harvard, the University of Chicago and Cambridge University, before Margaret obtained work at the California Institute of Technology, while Geoffrey worked at the Mount Wilson Observatory and Palomar Observatory.

Keynes ( pronounced " Canes ") was born in London, the second son of Geoffrey Keynes and his wife Margaret, the daughter of George Howard Darwin who in turn was the son of Charles Darwin, making him the great-grandson of Charles Darwin ( see Darwin — Wedgwood family ).

Keynes was the eldest son of Geoffrey Keynes and his wife Margaret Elizabeth ( née Darwin ), daughter of George Darwin.

Howard Hinton married Margaret Clark, a teacher, in 1938 and they had four children, Charlotte who became a headmistress, James who became a Professor of History at the University of Warwick, Geoffrey Hinton who is a Professor of Computer Science at the University of Toronto and Teresa who is a social policy researcher in Tasmania.

In 1979, when the Conservative Party entered government under Margaret Thatcher, he became Minister of State at the Treasury, working to the Chancellor of the Exchequer, Geoffrey Howe, before becoming Minister for Trade in 1981.

Clark's successor, Sir Geoffrey Howe, later became Chancellor of the Exchequer and Foreign Secretary in Margaret Thatcher's cabinet.
