Kevyn Aucoin ( February 14, 1962 – May 7, 2002 ) was an American make-up artist and photographer.

Aucoin was born in Shreveport, Louisiana and grew up in Lafayette, Louisiana, to parents Isidore Adrian Aucoin and Thelma Suzanne Melancon, who adopted him as an infant through Catholic Charities of Alexandria, Louisiana He had three siblings, Carla, Kim, and Keith, all of whom were adopted as well.

Aucoin was interested in makeup from the time he was a child, and frequently did his sisters ' makeup and photographed the results with a Polaroid camera — something he'd do throughout his career.

Thelma Aucoin recalled, " It was $ 30 for a makeup lesson, and these were women who paid $ 3, 000 for a dress, but they'd never let him.

When he first arrived in New York, Aucoin was putting makeup on test models for free to build up his portfolio before he was discovered by Vogue.

A year later, Aucoin would launch The New Nakeds ( later renamed The Nakeds ), a groundbreaking line that was a strong counterpoint to cosmetics available at the time.

Aucoin also obtained legal guardianship of his niece Samantha, then 15, who was living with Aucoin and Antunes.

In September 2001, Aucoin was diagnosed with a rare pituitary tumor.

Antunes went to Paris for a week to be alone, and in that time, Aucoin became ill and was hospitalized.

The record was previously shared by Denis Potvin of the New York Islanders ( 1974 – 75 ) and Adrian Aucoin of the Vancouver Canucks ( 1998 – 99 ).

On February 7, 2001, Aucoin ( along with a second-round pick for the 2001 NHL Entry Draft ) was traded to the Tampa Bay Lightning for goaltender Dan Cloutier.

However, the first two seasons of his contract were hampered by injuries, and in the off-season prior to the 2007 – 08 campaign, Aucoin waived his no-trade clause and was sent with a seventh-round draft pick to the Calgary Flames for defencemen Andrei Zyuzin and Steve Marr.

One of five Canucks players chosen to the national team, he was joined by Adrian Aucoin, Ed Jovanovski, Brendan Morrison and Peter Schaefer.

He was joined on the team by four other Canucks – Todd Bertuzzi, Adrian Aucoin, Ed Jovanovski and Peter Schaefer.

By the trade deadline, Cloutier was dealt to the Vancouver Canucks on February 7, 2001, in exchange for defenceman Adrian Aucoin and a second-round selection in the 2001 draft.

Kiss manager Bill Aucoin was introduced to Starz via his right hand man Sean Delaney, who had befriended Pieter Sweval, and Aucoin began handling Starz in late 1975, helping them to get signed to Capitol Records in early 1976.

The suits worn on the cover by the rest of the band were owned by manager Bill Aucoin.

Five years later, in the early 1980s, her band Spider ( featuring Anton Fig of Late Show with David Letterman ), managed by Bill Aucoin, who had also managed KISS and Billy Idol, among others, got a recording contract with Dreamland Records, and released two albums: Spider ( self-titled ; 1980 ) and Between the Lines ( 1981 ).

However, a day later on October 3, he fractured his tibia bone, ( blocking a shot by Adrian Aucoin ) during an exhibition game, which would result in missing 38 games.

With the Canucks, Aucoin established himself as a significant offensive threat, specifically on the power-play.

Adrian Aucoin ( born July 3, 1973 ) is a Canadian professional ice hockey defenceman currently playing for the Columbus Blue Jackets of the National Hockey League ( NHL ).

In addition to leading all league defencemen in goals and power-play goals in the 1998 – 99 NHL season, Aucoin also led all defencemen in shorthanded goals ( 2 ) and game-winning goals ( 3 ).

With the Islanders, Aucoin put up the most consistent offensive numbers of his career, including a career-high 33 assists and 44 points in 2003 – 04, resulting in him being chosen to play in the 2004 NHL All-Star Game for the Eastern Conference.

Once NHL play resumed, Aucoin signed with the Chicago Blackhawks on August 2, 2005 for four years.

Several foreign NHL players also signed with Modo, including Canadian defenceman Adrian Aucoin and American forward Dan Hinote.

Tallon made several moves in the summer of 2005, most notably the signing of Tampa Bay Lightning Stanley Cup – winning goalie Nikolai Khabibulin and All-Star defenseman Adrian Aucoin.

However, injuries plagued Khabibulin and Aucoin ( among others ), and the Blackhawks again finished well out of the playoffs with a 26 – 43 – 13 record — next-to-last in the Western Conference and the second-worst in the league.

In 1993, Revlon hired Kevyn Aucoin, at the age of 31, as Creative Director for their prestige Ultima II line of cosmetics.

The colors, textures and finishes Aucoin created in the New Nakeds would serve as the most influential direction of the latter part of the century, and visible as brands MAC, Bobbi Brown, and Laura Mercier all launched with their version of the products Aucoin created years earlier.

Later, Aucoin would work with Japanese cosmetics giant Shiseido on their Inoui line.

Aucoin made appearances on Good Morning America and Oprah.

The Tori Amos song " Taxi Ride " from her 2002 album Scarlet's Walk is a partial homage to Aucoin.

Aucoin lived with his partner, Jeremy Antunes, whom he married in an unofficial ceremony in Hawaii in 2000 and thereafter referred to as his husband.

He had also previously been romantically involved with Eric Sakas, who remained a close friend after their breakup and became president and creative director of Kevyn Aucoin Beauty.
