In December 2005, ThyssenKrupp acquired 60 % of Atlas Elektronik from BAE Systems, with EADS acquiring the remaining 40 %.

With the merger of GEC's defence business Marconi Electronic Systems and British Aerospace in 1999, the resulting BAE Systems acquired Marconi's 49. 9 % share in TMS.

These represent 46 % and 45 % respectively of BAE Systems ' group results.

VT Group finally exited the Shipbuilding industry in October 2009, after selling its 45 % share of the Shipbuilding Joint Venture company BVT Surface Fleet to BAE Systems.

Following the sale of VT Group's 45 % share, BVT Surface Fleet was renamed BAE Systems Surface Ships to reflect the total ownership.
