Theo Barker explains in the official account of the Brewery, that it all began with a Captain Richard Marsh who in 1678 is recorded in the Faversham Wardmote Books as contributing by far the largest of the ‘ Brewers Fines ’ made at that date.

In the late 1920s, Barker began to doubt she was doing enough for the church and considered focusing solely on sacred works.

Prior to working in the film industry, the Wachowskis wrote comic books for Marvel Comics ' Razorline imprint, namely Ectokid ( created by horror novelist Clive Barker ) in 1993 as well as writing for Epic Comics ' Clive Barker's Hellraiser and Clive Barker's Nightbreed comic series.

The ensemble playing of Mackay, Barker, Richard Beckinsale and Brian Wilde, and the writing by Dick Clement and Ian La Frenais, made Porridge one of the most successful comedy series of the 1970s.

The episode was written by writing team Mike Barker and Matt Weitzman and directed by Jack Dyer before the conclusion of the second production season.

Each episode of the show, which was performed and broadcast live, was focused on a single topic and principally revolved around a continuous monologue from Frost, with sketches from Barker, Corbett and Cleese as the show went on.

Barker and Corbett performed sketches and musical numbers.

In 2005 Corbett teamed up again with Ronnie Barker for The Two Ronnies Sketchbook, comedy sketches from their original series with original linking material.

The show featured comic sketches in which Barker and Corbett appeared both together and separately, with various additions giving the programme the feeling of a variety show.

The sketches often involved complex word-play, much of it written by Barker, who also liked to parody officialdom and establishment figures, as well as eccentrics.

One of the most popular sketches was " Four Candles ", written by Barker, where Barker walks into an old-fashioned ironmonger's store and asks for " four candles.

A regular comedy performer in sketches featuring Ronnie Corbett and Ronnie Barker on Frost on Sunday and Hark at Barker ( 1970 ), she later appeared in Mostly Monkhouse, a BBC Radio Comedy programme with David Jason supporting Bob Monkhouse.
