When Homer refuses to turn off a football game so that Bart can watch " The Krusty the Clown Show " ( which has been running for 346 consecutive hours ), Bart transports him into the football stadium in place of the ball for a field goal kick.

Over the next 24 hours, Homer tries to do good deeds, such as saving Bart from being bullied by Nelson ( which only results in Nelson giving Homer a noogie ) and helping Principal Skinner's mother, Agnes across the street, which ends up with her dropping her to her death and Homer defending his actions by stating that she was " going to be the next Hitler ".

Homer starts a day care center ( under Marge's ownership ), " Uncle Homer's Day Care Center ", to entertain himself, but makes Bart and Lisa feel like outcasts by ignoring them, giving Bart's jacket to Milhouse, forcing them out of their bedrooms for a film crew that is making a documentary about him, and having them work long hours at night to cut out felt hearts in his honor.

On a sunny day in Springfield, Bart is not excited about going to school ; in part because he has to travel there on a prison bus, sit in new chairs that are very uncomfortable ; and even more so when Ms. Krabappel informs the class that they will spend two hours longer than usual at school that day.
