In 1961, Korner and Davies formed Blues Incorporated, initially a loose-knit group of musicians with a shared love of electric blues and R & B music.

In an interview with Holger Petersen, on Saturday Night Blues on CBC Radio in the fall of 2006 Bo Diddley commented about the racism that existed in the music industry establishment during the early part of his career that saw him deprived of his royalties from the most successful part of his career.

Several annual music festivals take place in Davenport, including the Mississippi Valley Blues Festival, The Mississippi Valley Fair, and the Bix Beiderbecke Memorial Jazz Festival.

The group were in the school of baroque-flavoured, melodic pop-rock music typified by the Beach Boys of Pet Sounds and God Only Knows, the Zombies of Odessey and Oracle and Time Of The Season, the Procol Harum of A Whiter Shade of Pale, the Moody Blues of Days of Future Passed and Nights in White Satin and the Kinks of Waterloo Sunset and the Love of Forever Changes.

A number of Blues musicians have also used proverbs extensively., The frequent use of proverbs in Country music has led to published studies of proverbs in this genre., The Reggae artist Jahdan Blakkamoore has recorded a piece titled Proverbs Remix.

As the blues became an increasingly significant influence, leading to the creation of the blues-rock of groups like The Moody Blues, Small Faces, The Move, Traffic and Cream, and developing into rock music, the influence of early rock and roll began to subside.

Blues music, rooted in the work songs and spirituals of slavery and influenced greatly by West African musical traditions, was first played by blacks, and later by some whites, in the Mississippi Delta region of the United States around the time of the Emancipation Proclamation.

In 1948, RCA Victor was marketing black music under the name " Blues and Rhythm ".

Blues songs and influences continued to surface in the Rolling Stones ' music in later years.

Canned Heat's Alan Wilson also helped bring slide guitar to the rock music industry in the late 1960s which he used frequently during concerts to create a buzzing delta blues boogie which can be heard on tracks such as London Blues, I Love My Baby, Sandy Blues, and countless others and can also be seen during their performances at the Monterey Pop Festival on Rollin and Tumblin ' and at Woodstock During Woodstock Boogie and On The Road Again.

They introduced the first part, which covered cowboy music, on German television as " Buckaroo Blues ".

Specializing in hot jazz and recoiling from so-called sweet music, the band took its name from one of its most frequent numbers, Jelly Roll Morton's " Wolverine Blues.

By 1950, another emerging musical trend, the African-American popular music style known as Rhythm and Blues driven by musicians like Fats Domino was drawing young audiences away.

While his music had been featured on screen for years and sometimes the whole orchestra in film shorts, Ellington ( with Strayhorn ) now began to work directly on music for movies, contributing scores for Anatomy of a Murder ( 1959 ) and Paris Blues ( 1961 ).

One of the first uses of the word in the music scene of this time was in the 1964 recording of " Hesitation Blues " by folk group the Holy Modal Rounders.

The annual Omaha Blues, Jazz, & Gospel Festival celebrates local music along with the Omaha Black Music Hall of Fame.

Formerly titled the W. C. Handy Awards, the International Blues Awards are presented by the Blues Foundation ( headquartered in Memphis ) for Blues music achievement, with weeklong competitions and an awards banquet including a night of performance and celebration.

The former is the historic highway north to Chicago via Cairo, Illinois, while the latter roughly parallels the Mississippi River for most of its course and crosses the Mississippi Delta region to the south, with the Delta also legendary for Blues music.

Aykroyd educated Belushi on the finer points of blues music and, with a little encouragement from then-SNL music director Paul Shaffer, it led to the creation of their Blues Brothers characters.

Demonstrating the primitive African rhythmic backgrounds of the Blues was Michael Babatunde Olatunji, who plays such native drums as the konga and even does a resounding job slapping his own chest.

Alexis Korner ( 19 April 1928 — 1 January 1984 ) was a blues musician and radio broadcaster, who has sometimes been referred to as " a Founding Father of British Blues ".

As a reward, Federko was drafted 7th overall by the St. Louis Blues in the 1976 NHL Amateur Draft.

He started the next season with the Kansas City Blues of the Central Hockey League and was leading the league in points when he was called up mid-season to play 31 games with St. Louis.

Federko would score 100 points in a season four times, and was a consistent and underrated performer for the Blues.

After a poor season for Federko in 1988 – 89, he was traded to the Detroit Red Wings with Tony McKegney for future Blues star Adam Oates, and Paul MacLean.

During the January 1969 sessions for the Let It Be album, the Beatles played a slow impromptu version of " Mailman, Bring Me No More Blues " — although not written by Holly, it was popularized by him — with Lennon mimicking Holly's vocal style ; the recording was eventually released in the mid-1990s on Anthology 3.

He was one of the most popular blues singers of the 1920s, and has been titled " Father of the Texas Blues ".

In 1927, when Williams moved to OKeh Records, he took Jefferson with him, and OKeh quickly recorded and released Jefferson's " Matchbox Blues " backed with " Black Snake Moan ," which was to be his only OKeh recording, probably because of contractual obligations with Paramount.

Another of his tunes, " Matchbox Blues ", was recorded more than 30 years later by The Beatles, albeit in a rockabilly version credited to Carl Perkins, who himself did not credit Jefferson on his 1955 recording.

The Blues transitioned to the straight-wing Grumman F9F-2 Panther on 13 July 1949, wherein the F8F-1 " Beetle Bomb " was relegated to solo aerobatics before the main show, until it crashed on takeoff at a training show in Pensacola in 1950.

The " Blues " continued to perform nationwide until the start of the Korean War in 1950, when ( due to a shortage of pilots, and no planes were available ) the team was disbanded and its members were ordered to combat duty.

The Phantom was the only plane to be flown by both the " Blues " and the United States Air Force Thunderbirds.

Accordingly, he was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame and received Lifetime Achievement Awards from the Rhythm and Blues Foundation and a Grammy Award from the National Academy of Recording Arts and Sciences.

While recovering from the stroke and heart attack, Diddley came back to his home town of McComb, Mississippi, in early November 2007 for the unveiling of a plaque devoted to him on the National Blues Trail stating that he was " acclaimed as a founder of rock and roll.

In 2004, Mickey and Sylvia's 1956 recording of his song " Love Is Strange " was inducted into the Grammy Hall of Fame as a recording of qualitative or historical significance, and he was inducted into the Blues Foundation's Blues Hall of Fame.

Bo Diddley was honored by the Mississippi Blues Commission with a Mississippi Blues Trail historic marker placed in McComb, his birthplace, in recognition of his enormous contribution to the development of the blues in Mississippi.

Throughout the late Roman and early Byzantine periods, Christianity was resolving fundamental questions of identity, and the dispute between the orthodox and the monophysites became the cause of serious disorder, expressed through allegiance to the horse-racing parties of the Blues and the Greens.

They also released a relatively small amount of blues albums, mostly produced by Pete Welding, e. g. Driftin ' Slim & His Blues Band's Somebody Hoo-Doo'd The Hoo-Doo Man.

This makes the HCR relatively unique in the British Army, in that it is an operational regiment only-it does not have its own ceremonial identity, as The Life Guards and the Blues and Royals have their own RHQs, uniforms and accoutrements.
