The Spanish commander, Juan Francisco Bodega y Quadra, was very cordial and he and Vancouver exchanged the maps they had made, but no agreement was reached ; they decided to await further instructions.

The northernmost latitude he reached was 54 ° 40 ′ N. This was followed, in 1775, by another Spanish expedition, under the command of Bruno de Heceta and including Juan Peréz and Juan Francisco de la Bodega y Quadra as officers.

One of the expedition's two ships, the Sonora, under Bodega y Quadra, ultimately reached latitude 58 ° north, entered Sitka Sound and formally claimed the region for Spain.

The 1779 expedition of Ignacio de Arteaga and Bodega y Quadra reached Port Etches on Hinchinbrook Island, and entered Prince William Sound.

Bodega sailed from Callao at the end of March 1783, carrying the cargo of military supplies and a number of passengers.

Juan Francisco de la Bodega y Quadra ( 22 May 1744 – 26 March 1794 ) was a Spanish naval officer born in Lima, Peru.

In 1780 Bodega was ordered to sail to the Viceroyalty of Peru in order to acquire quicksilver ( mercury ), which was required by the Mexican silver mining industry.

The Viceroy of Peru, Agustín de Jáuregui, had heard of Bodega's mission before Bodega arrived and decided to expedite matters by sending all the quicksilver he could spare to Acapulco on the merchant ship San Pablo.

The prisoner outmaneuvers the missile, and leads it back on a collision course with the Bodega Bay.

The island was originally named Quadra's and Vancouver's Island in commemoration of the friendly negotiations held by Spanish Commander of the Nootka Sound settlement Juan Francisco de la Bodega y Quadra, and British Naval Captain George Vancouver on Nootka Sound in 1792, to find a solution to the Nootka Crisis.

In August 1812, the Russian-American Company set up a fortified trading post at Fort Ross, near present day Bodega Bay on the Sonoma Coast of Northern California, sixty miles north of San Francisco on land claimed, but not occupied by, the British Empire.

The Club had played a major role in blocking PG & E's plan for a nuclear power plant at Bodega Bay in the early 1960s, but that campaign had centered on the earthquake danger from the nearby San Andreas Fault, not out of opposition to nuclear power itself.

Examples are Alexis and La Bodega, Coffee Bean, and McDonald's which can be found on Jalan Telawi and also Bangsar Shopping Centre.

This expedition was commanded by Bruno de Heceta on board the Santiago, piloted by Pérez Hernández, and accompanied by Juan Francisco de la Bodega y Quadra in La Sonora.

Also in this vicinity: Awachi ( at the mouth of Estero Americano Creek ), Amayelle ( on San Antonio Creek ), Kennekono ( at Bodega Corners ).

By that time the only Coast Miwok people still on their land were those on the Pacific Coast of the Marin Peninsula, from Point Reyes north to Bodega Bay.

Bodega Bay is a shallow, rocky inlet of the Pacific Ocean on the coast of northern California in the United States.

Bodega Bay is protected on its north end from the Pacific Ocean by Bodega Head, which shelters the small Bodega Harbor and is separated from the main bay by a jetty.

The San Andreas Fault runs parallel to the coastline and bisects Bodega Head, which lies on the Pacific Plate ; the town is on the North American Plate.

The village of Bodega Bay sits on the east side of Bodega Harbor.

Accessible beaches on Bodega Bay include Doran Regional Park ( on the jetty ) and Pinnacle Gulch.

Coast Miwok native Americans lived on the shores of Bodega Bay.

There is speculation that Bodega Bay may have been Sir Francis Drake's Nova Albion landing location on the California coast.

" There is no evidence in the journal or on the charts that Bodega y Quadra ever saw the entrance to day Bodega Harbour or knew of the lagoon to the north ".

On 17 July 1827, the French sea captain Auguste Duhaut-Cilly, sailed by the southernmost Farallon Island and counted the " crude dwellings of about a hundred Kodiaks stationed there by the Russians of Bodega ... the Kodiaks, in their light boats, slip into San Francisco Bay by night, moving along the coast opposite the fort, and once inside this great basin they station themselves temporarily on some of the inner islands, from where they catch the sea otter without hindrance.

A competing newspaper, the West Marin Citizen, debuted on July 5, 2007 ( following a pilot edition in June ) – published by Bodega Bay Navigator publisher Joel Hack, edited by former Light managing editor Jim Kravets, and staffed by several of his former colleagues.

That Bodega y Quadra was able to organize the complicated logistical issues, especially given San Blas's chronically undersupplied and underfunded status, such that the ships sailed within months of Bodega's arrival, was a remarkable achievement.

These included: Rheinterrasse, Löwenbräu ( Bavarian beer restaurant ), Grinzing ( Viennese café and wine bar ), Bodega ( Spanish winery ), Csarda ( Hungarian ), Wild West Bar ( aka the Arizona Bar ) ( American ), Osteria ( Italian ), Kombüse ( Bremen drinking den-literally " galley "), Rübchen ( Teltow, named after the well-known turnip dish Teltower Rübchen, made with turnips grown locally in the small town of Teltow just outside Berlin ), plus a Turkish cafe and Japanese tearoom ; additionally there was a large ballroom.

The expansion, Return to Na Pali, picks up not long after Unreals ending ; Prisoner 849 is found by a human warship, the UMS Bodega Bay.

However, " Korean Bodega ", one of the aforementioned upbeat songs, was the biggest hit from the album, reaching # 15, their second highest placing single so far after the re-release of " Scooby Snacks ".

Vancouver Island was originally named " Quadra and Vancouver Island " after Bodega y Quadra and George Vancouver.

Pérez's expedition was followed soon after by the 1775 expedition led by Bruno de Heceta and Juan Francisco de la Bodega y Quadra, in which Pérez served as pilot.

Before being named by Lisianski, it was called San Jacinto after Mt Edgecumbe was named Montaña de San Jacinto by Don Juan de la Bodega y Quadra in 1775.

It was designed by Turrell after Donald Hess, the owner of the Bodega and owner of a few of Turell's works, told him he wanted to dedicate a museum to his work.

After sailing into Bodega Bay in 1809 on the Kad ' yak and returning to Novoarkhangelsk with beaver skins and 1, 160 otter pelts, Baranov ordered Kuskov to return and establish an agricultural settlement in the area.

It returns underwater through the linear trough of Tomales Bay which separates the Point Reyes Peninsula from the mainland, runs just east of the Bodega Heads through Bodega Bay and back underwater, returning onshore at Fort Ross.

The boundary with Marin County runs from the mouth of the Estero Americano at Bodega Bay, up Americano Creek, then overland to San Antonio Creek and down the Petaluma River to its mouth at the northwest corner of San Pablo Bay, which adjoins San Francisco Bay.

It is about a 20-minute drive from the Pacific Ocean, between Santa Rosa and Bodega Bay, and is known for its liberal politics and small-town charm.

Apart from the harbor, all of Bodega Bay lies within the boundaries of the Gulf of the Farallones National Marine Sanctuary.

Geologically, the rocks of Bodega Head differ greatly from those on the mainland just to the east.

Whereas the rocks of Bodega Head are exposed continental granite, the mainland rocks are of oceanic origin from the Franciscan Complex.

The harbor is in Sonoma County at, on the eastern side of Bodega Head and is protected from the main part of Bodega Bay to the south by a narrow sandy spit of land.
