GRIMMS was an English pop rock, skit and poetry group, originally formed as a merger of The Scaffold, the Bonzo Dog Band, and the Liverpool Scene for two concerts in 1971 at the suggestion of John Gorman.

The Bonzo Dog Doo-Dah Band performed a song in each programme and Bob Kerr's Whoopee Band also appeared.

Inspired by the film Bedtime for Bonzo, in which Ronald Reagan appeared with a chimp, Bell greeted Bush's election with a cartoon entitled " Bigtime for Bonzo ", depicting Bush as Reagan's chimp.

In " The Perils of Penelope ", he appeared as Bonzo for the first time, as dating Penelope and after he chase Garfield to a truck he was last seen in the back of a truck to Mexico.

Innes ' Bonzo Dog Doo-Dah Band appeared in The Beatles ' Magical Mystery Tour film, and Paul McCartney produced the Bonzos ' 1968 single " I'm the Urban Spaceman ", while Harrison founded HandMade Films for the purpose of financing Python's Life of Brian ; HandMade later also produced Python alum Terry Gilliam's Time Bandits.

The Bonzo Dog Band was called the Bonzo Dog Doo Dah band at the time and appeared regularly on Do Not Adjust Your Set-a so-called children's programme that also featured Michael Palin, and other later famous comics.

He is best remembered for his creation of Bonzo the dog, a fictional character in the early 1920s that first appeared in The Sketch Magazine.

She has also appeared in such programmes as Behind The Bike Sheds, The Bill, KYTV, Alas Smith and Jones, All Creatures Great and Small, Inspector Morse and the 80s children's drama series, Dodger, Bonzo and the Rest.

During her teens she appeared in two ITV dramas, Dodger, Bonzo and the Rest and two series of Behind The Bike Sheds.

Henry's twin sons, Claude and Eustace, play significant roles in several stories, as do Aunt Dahlia's children, Angela and Bonzo Travers, and Aunt Agatha's young son, Thomas Gregson, nicknamed " Thos ".

Some of Studdy ’ s most famous Bonzo sketches include: “ Bonzo discovers the Bonzosaurous egg ,” “ Bonzo recognizes a lost brother ,” “ Bonzo finds a trace of his ancestral courage in an old tapestry ,” “ Bonzo finds his Father – and wonders where the cash went .” There were all drafted in 1924 as part of the sketch series “ Bonzo in search of his forefathers .”

Power, sought Studdy ’ s help and advice in attempting to producing a new breed of terrier inspired by Bonzo to be named the Bonzo Terrier.

Bonzo ’ s film career launched in 1924 at the Marble Arch Pavilion with the premier of the first of 26 cartoons, “ Sausage Snatching Sensation .”

Merchandise was mass produced and manufactured not only in Bonzo ’ s home country of England, but also in America, Austria, Belgium, Czechoslovakia, Denmark, France, Germany, Japan, and the Netherlands.

Created around the same time as similar cartoons like Felix the Cat, Bonzo quickly became a popular icon not only in the United Kingdom, but was one of the first cartoon characters to be loved around the globe.

Produced the 2008 nonfiction musical film, The Seventh Python, about the life and legacy of Bonzo Dog Doo-Dah Band founder and Monty Python's Flying Circus collaborator Neil Innes, which premiered June 26th, 2008 at the American Cinematheque's Mods & Rockers Film Festival at the Egyptian Theatre in Hollywood.

The Bonzo Dog Doo Dah Band is seen playing its song " Death Cab for Cutie " ( also performed in The Beatles ' film Magical Mystery Tour ) in the DVD, Episode 7.

Aside from his romantic relationships, although his behaviour was outrageous, it was in the humorous vein as his friend Vivian Stanshall, of the Bonzo Dog Band claimed.

The show also featured musical numbers by the Bonzo Dog Doo-Dah Band, including future Monty Python musical collaborator Neil Innes.

Vivian Stanshall ( born Victor Anthony Stanshall ; 21 March 1943 – 5 March 1995 ) was an English singer-songwriter, painter, musician, author, poet and wit, best known for his work with the Bonzo Dog Doo-Dah Band, for his surreal exploration of the British upper classes in Sir Henry at Rawlinson End, and for narrating Mike Oldfield's Tubular Bells.

The name of the band came from a word game which Stanshall played with art school peer and future Bonzo member Rodney Slater, involving cutting up sentences and juxtaposing the fragments to form new ones.

Thus they became the Bonzo Dog Doo-Dah Band – later abbreviated to The Bonzo Dog Band, or just The Bonzos.

Stanshall went on to form various short-lived groups including The Sean Head Showband, Bonzo Dog Freaks ( featuring the guitar talents of the rotund Bubs White ) and BiG GrunT.

A major tribute for John Bonham entitled " Bonzo: The Groove Remains the Same — A Night In Honor of John Henry Bonham " was performed on 25 September 2010 — the 30th anniversary of his death.

It was an offshoot of the eclectic Bonzo Dog Doo-Dah Band, and shared many similarities with other outfits of the time such as The New Vaudeville Band and The Temperance Seven.

Bedtime for Bonzo is a 1951 comedy film directed by Fred de Cordova, starring future U. S. President Ronald Reagan and Diana Lynn.
