The band originally consisted of musicians Frankie Boyce, Richard Boyce, and Langston Booth plus the five members of the Parliaments on vocals.

The college opened Boyce campus, in Monroeville, and Allegheny campus, on Pittsburgh's North Side, in 1966.

The first of the four campuses to officially commence classes on September 19, 1966, Boyce moved to its current location in time for the start of fall classes in 1969.

" I Wanna Be Free " is a song written by Tommy Boyce and Bobby Hart that was first performed by The Monkees and appeared on their debut album The Monkees ( album ) in 1966.

Band members originally comprised singer / guitarist Simon Holmes, bassist John Boyce and drummer Mark Temple, after a few months of initial rehearsals as a three-piece, vocalist / guitarist Alannah Russack signed on.

In early 1987, Boyce departed and was replaced by singer / bassist Robyn St. Clare.

Others invited included Kleinschmidt, Donnie Boyce, William Gates, Billy Taylor, Rashard Griffith and Howard Nathan.

These cover versions included " Three Steps to Heaven " ( originally by Eddie Cochran in 1960 ), " Heartbeat " ( originally written and recorded by Buddy Holly ), " Under the Moon of Love " ( originally a U. S. hit for Curtis Lee in 1961 and co-written by Tommy Boyce ), " When " ( originally by the Kalin Twins ), " You Got What It Takes " ( originally by Marv Johnson ) and " Dancin ' Party " ( originally by Chubby Checker ).

* Singer / songwriter duo Boyce & Hart included a song on their 1967 LP " Test Patterns " called " My Little Chickadee.

According to Boyce, " I Wanna Be Free " was Jimmy Webb's favorite song and even inspired the song " By the Time I Get to Phoenix ," which Webb wrote for Glen Campbell and which became a top 10 hit on the country music charts in 1967.

Mr. Jones handed the first deed to Boyce and Lillian Yates, then presented approximately 60 more residential lots.

Boyce was also a big rugby union fan, and through him it then began to be adopted by Welsh rugby union crowds at international matches.
