Breckinridge was one of the founding editors and worked on its publication every year until her death in 1948.

Henry Skillman Breckinridge, an anti-New Deal lawyer from New York, filed to run against Roosevelt in four primaries.

In New Jersey, President Roosevelt did not file for the preference vote and lost that primary to Breckinridge, though he did receive 19 % of the vote on write-ins.

However, Breckinridge received almost no support in most of the Northern states ( which Lincoln swept except for split electoral votes from New Jersey going to Douglas and Lincoln ) but, as the candidate of the Buchanan faction, did outpoll Douglas in Pennsylvania and won Delaware and received some support comparable to Douglas in Connecticut.
