Public transport is mainly in the hands of a statutory corporation, Córas Iompair Éireann ( CIÉ ), and its subsidiaries, Bus Átha Cliath ( Dublin Bus ), Bus Éireann ( Irish Bus ), and Iarnród Éireann ( Irish Rail ).
