Busby retired to his country property Kirkton on the Hunter River which had been granted to him and died there on 10 May 1857.

He was one of the Busby Babes, the young United team formed under manager Matt Busby in the mid 1950s, and one of eight players who died as a result of the Munich air disaster.

Jim Busby died in Augusta, Georgia, at 69 years of age.

Liam was one of the Manchester United Busby Babes who died in the Munich air disaster of 1958.

At the end of the Second World War, he appointed Matt Busby as manager, but only lived to see Busby bring one major trophy back to Old Trafford – the 1948 FA Cup – as he died in 1951, a year before they won their first top division title since 1911.

Duncan Edwards, Matt Busby, and Johnny Berry were critically injured ; Edwards died fifteen days later.

At the same time, he was doing his National Service with the Royal Army Ordnance Corps in Shrewsbury, where Busby had advised him to apply as it meant he could still play for United at the weekend.

Many of Pell's manuscripts fell into the hands of Richard Busby, master of Westminster School, and afterwards came into the possession of the Royal Society ; they are still preserved in nearly forty folio volumes in the British Library, which contain, not only Pell's own memoirs, but much of his correspondence with the mathematicians of his time.

Those accounts that favour the earlier date usually state that a club official, either Busby himself or manager Bert Whalley, arrived at the Edwards family home soon after midnight to secure the youngster's signature as early as possible, but other reports claim that this occurred when he signed his amateur contract.

The property remained in the Busby family until 1882, when it was sold to a local farmer.

However, the experience also forged Busby's opinions about how football should be played and governed, and when it became clear that they differed from those of the Liverpool board, their chairman Billy McConnell allowed Busby to pursue alternate employment.

Kennedy continued acting after The Circus, starring in early sound films, but retired in 1934, when she married choreographer / director Busby Berkeley.

The band started on July 4, 1957 as a replacement group for Buzz Busby ’ s Bayou Boys when several members of that band were injured in a car accident.
