The section of lower Broadway from its origin at Bowling Green to City Hall Park is the historical location for the city's ticker-tape parades, and is sometimes called the " Canyon of Heroes " during such events.

More than 200 black granite strips embedded in the sidewalks along the Canyon of Heroes list honorees of past ticker-tape parades.

The most recent parade in the Canyon of Heroes was on February 7, 2012 for the New York Giants in honor of their Super Bowl XLVI championship.

On February 5, 2008, the city, under mayor Michael Bloomberg, threw a ticker tape parade in honor of the Giants ' Super Bowl XLII victory at the Canyon of Heroes in lower Manhattan.

Upon his resignation, he was given a ticker tape parade up Broadway's Canyon of Heroes in the borough of Manhattan.

Ten days after their release, the former hostages were given a ticker tape parade through the Canyon of Heroes in New York City.

The section of lower Broadway through the Financial District that serves as the parade route for these events is colloquially called the " Canyon of Heroes ".

The route past the building is known colloquially as the Canyon of Heroes, in part because of the sheer verticality of the building and others around it.

Capp is often associated with two other giants of the medium: Milton Caniff ( Terry and the Pirates, Steve Canyon ) and Walt Kelly ( Pogo ).

North of that is the Alameda Creek Regional Trail, running from the Bay to Niles Canyon.

In 1871 Powell first used the term " Grand Canyon "; previously it had been called the " Big Canyon ".

The term Patayan is used by archaeologists to describe the prehistoric Native American cultures that inhabited parts of modern day Arizona, California and Baja California, including areas near the Colorado River Valley, the nearby uplands, and north to the vicinity of the Grand Canyon.

Lee's Ferry is considered the official beginning of Grand Canyon National Park on the Colorado River and is used as a fishing area and river rafting launch site.
