A line running from Cape Aspro ( 28 ° 16 ' E ) in Asia Minor, to Cum Burnù ( Capo della Sabbia ) the Northeast extreme of the Island of Rhodes, through the island to Cape Prasonisi, the Southwest point thereof, on to Vrontos Point ( 35 ° 33 ' N ) in Skarpanto < nowiki >< nowiki ></ nowiki >, through this island to Castello Point, the South extreme thereof, across to Cape Plaka ( East extremity of Crete ), through Crete to Agria Grabusa, the Northwest extreme thereof, thence to Cape Apolitares in Antikithera Island, through the island to Psira Rock ( off the Northwest point ) and across to Cape Trakhili in Kithera Island, through Kithera to the Northwest point ( Cape Karavugia ) and thence to Cape Santa Maria () in the Morea.

In the early 18th century a Bulom named Seniora Maria had her own town near Cape Sierra Leone.

The first Huguenot to arrive at the Cape of Good Hope was however Maria de la Queillerie, wife of commander Jan van Riebeeck ( and daughter of a Huguenot church minister ), who arrived on 6 April 1652 to establish a settlement at what is today Cape Town.

He now decided to settle in South Africa, married Anna Maria Truter, and in 1800 bought a house in Cape Town.

Barrow was married to Anna Maria Truter ( 1777 – 1875 ) on 26 August 1799, a botanical artist from the Cape.

At the Cape Henry Memorial located at Joint Expeditionary Base East in Virginia Beach, Virginia, there is monument commemorating the contribution of de Grasse and his sailors to the cause of American independence.

The Chesapeake Bay Bridge crosses the bay in Maryland from Sandy Point ( near Annapolis ) to Kent Island ; and the Chesapeake Bay Bridge-Tunnel in Virginia connects Virginia Beach to Cape Charles.

The southern edge of the national park curls southward from Mary Ellis Wreck Beach in the west, to West Point and Cape Catastrophe in the East.

Cape Bowling Green is accessible via the village of Alva Beach.

Nudey Beach can be accessed by heading along the trail at the southern end of the resort, and leads along the edge of the island through rainforest, with occasional glimpses out to Cape Grafton, and then descends to Nudey Beach, which was once a nude bathing beach, with some coral available for snorkelers.

Smaller Archaic sites exist at Cape Wanbrow and at Beach Road in central Oamaru.

Along with Bournedale and Sagamore Beach, it is one of only three communities in Barnstable County that are north of the Cape Cod Canal.

Originally settled by the Nauset tribe, Eastham was the site where in 1621 a hunting expedition comprised from the crew of the sailing vessel Mayflower, which had stopped in Provincetown harbor on Cape Cod Bay after a rough crossing of the Atlantic Ocean, which led to the first encounter of the Pilgrims and the local Nauset Indians at First Encounter Beach.

The town is also the site of South Cape Beach State Park, along Dead Neck and Waquoit Bay, and the Lowell Holly Reservation, comprising the land between Wakeby and Mashpee Ponds.
