Born as Cecily Margot MacKenzie in London of Scottish ancestry, she lived on the coast of Brittany in France from the age of 24 with her French husband, Dr. Alex Lefort.

In May, just days before the German surrender, SOE agent Cecily Lefort was also executed at Ravensbrück.

On 16 June 1943 she was flown to a location north-east of Angers, in the Loire Valley, in occupied France with fellow-agents Noor Inayat Khan and Cecily Lefort, where they were met by Henri Dericourt, the air movements officer for F section.

She traveled to Paris, and together with two other women ( Diana Rowden, code named Paulette / Chaplain, and Cecily Lefort, code named Alice / Teacher ) Noor joined the Physician network led by Francis Suttill, code named Prosper.

This comprised seven or eight reliable individuals, one of whom was Cecily Lefort.
