The subjects run the gamut of the otaku subculture: the interviews cover a cosplayer who now works as a computer programmer and outright denies his cosplay days, even when presented with photographic evidence, but keeps his Char Aznable helmet in his desk drawer, an airsoft otaku, a garage kit otaku, and a shut-in who videorecords television programs for trade, but has not actually watched anything he's recorded.

The best example of this is how the personalities of longtime rivals, Amuro Ray and Char Aznable, are influenced by their experiences in the Gundam saga.

The Republic of Zeon was initially founded by Zeon Zum Deikun ( father of Char Aznable ), who declared the colony cluster located at the second Earth-Luna Lagrangian Point, named Side 3, independent from the Earth Federation in U. C.

0093, Zeon Zum Deikun's son, Casval Rem Deikun ( aka Zeon's legendary ace, Char Aznable, the " Red Comet "), created a second Neo Zeon.

When Char Aznable attacks the colony, Side 7, all the officers on the White Base are incapacitated, leaving Bright, who is then an ensign, with the highest seniority on the ship, and he assumes command from the wounded Captain Paolo Cassius.

Bright Noa worked together with his former adversary, Char Aznable, and later they form the core military leadership of AEUG.

He is often granted top-notch military personnel and equipment under his command, such as Amuro Ray, Char Aznable, and Kamille Bidan, but he has proven himself in that he can serve in unfavorable situations such as in the early part of Mobile Suit Gundam and Mobile Suit Gundam ZZ.

The Gundam metaverse's character Char Aznable is implied to be not a particularly powerful Newtype at all.

The first mobile suit equipped with the psycoframe was the Neo Zeon mobile suit MSN-04 Sazabi, built by Anaheim Electronics for the Neo Zeon leader Char Aznable.

Char boards the ship under the name Edward Mass, while Casval, under the name Char Aznable is detained overnight.

However, in the official Universal Century timeline for the animated series, it lists Amuro Ray and Char Aznable as MIA.

The name Char Aznable was inspired by Armenian-French singer and songwriter and character named Charkin in an earlier robot anime Reideen ( ライディーン )

* RX-78C / A Gundam Char Aznable Custom-An Alternate timeline in the video game series " Ghiren's Greed " places Char in the cockpit of a customized red RX-78 Gundam.

Yoshiyuki Tomino's original plot for the anime was considerably much more grim, with Amuro dying halfway through the series, and the crew of the White Base having to ally with Char ( who is given a red Gundam ), but finally having to battle him after he takes control of the Principality of Zeon.

More explicitly, Tomino included several references to his previous work-a Haro appears in an exploding Solo colonist fighter in the second episode ( as a side note, this same footage is used in episode 18, but the Haro has been painted over ); Amuro Ray makes an appearance in episode 6 as the Solo Ship's crew gather to plan their next move ; in episode 7 Karala refers to a nebula named the " Gundam Nebula "; in episode 9, another Haro appears as some dinosaurs explode ; in episodes 7, 13 and 19 a Haro can be seen rolling around on a table as the ship shakes, also in episode 13 a meteor in a shape of Haro can be seen for a few seconds ; in episode 18 a poster of Char is seen on a bedroom wall, a few seconds later as the room explodes a pair of Haro can be seen flying around the room.

Here they rendezvous with the waiting transport ship Spacious, whose crew greet Affranchi as " Your Excellency Char Aznable.

In the middle of this interrogation, Char, searching for the White Base, led an infiltration attack on Luna II by mining the port entrance.

Char is still under Zerg control at the time of StarCraft II: Wings of Liberty and remains their primary base of operations.

In the series written by Jimmy Perry and David Croft, the creators of Dad's Army and set in World War II British India, Shafeek plays “ Char wallah Muhammad .” The series aired on the BBC from 1974 – 1981 and starred Windsor Davies as the loud-mouthed staff sergeant of the Royal Artillery barracks in Deolali, Bombay Presidency and Michael Bates as the “ Hon.
