Before the advent of rock and roll, concept albums had their original heyday in jazz of the early to mid ' 50s with artists such as Nat King Cole and Frank Sinatra, the latter of whom would record numerous concept albums for Capitol throughout the last half of the ' 50s such as In the Wee Small Hours, Come Fly with Me, Where Are You?

Issued on The Meeting ( Philips, 1984 ), Gulda and Corea communicate in lengthy improvisations mixing jazz (" Some Day My Prince Will Come " and the lesser known Miles Davis song " Put Your Foot Out ") and classical music ( Brahms ' " Wiegenlied " song ").

" Softly, as in a Morning Sunrise " and " Lover, Come Back to Me " from The New Moon are still jazz-blues / soft-jazz classics ; the first was performed by many jazz performers, the second is best known by Billie Holiday.

Come Shine is a Norwegian jazz band, with Erlend Skomsvoll ( piano ), Håkon Mjåset Johansen ( drums ), Sondre Meisfjord ( bass ) and Live Maria Roggen ( vocals ).

The band, which made itself known earlier in their career for its " massive hardcore sound ", released in 1998 The Shape of Punk to Come, an album that saw the group take inspiration from The Nation of Ulysses while incorporating elements such as " ambient textures, jazz breakdowns ", metal and electronica to their hardcore sound.

One of the first Warner Bros. albums to achieve both critical and commercial success in the early 1970s was Van Morrison's third solo LP Moondance ( January 1970 ) which consolidated his distinctive blend of rock, jazz and R & B, earned glowing critical praise and sold well — it made the Top 40 album chart in both the US and the UK, the single " Come Running " was a US Top 40 hit (# 39, Billboard ) and the title track became a radio perennial.

Taking the top of the albums chart for the following 4 weeks was jazz singer, Norah Jones with her debut album, Come Away With Me.

After Eurogliders, Knight made a cameo appearance in the 1990 TV series Come In Spinner and sang on its soundtrack, Come in Spinner, recorded with jazz artist Vince Jones, which peaked at No. 4 on the Australian Recording Industry Association ( ARIA ) albums charts.

Ray's son Lance Ellington is a singer who has recorded several jazz oriented albums, and is one of the backing singers in the BBC show Strictly Come Dancing.

The album's title is a reference to a track on The Nation of Ulysses ' second album Plays Pretty for Baby, which itself was a reference and shares its title with Ornette Coleman's 1959 avant-garde jazz album The Shape of Jazz to Come.

Geils Band did " Come Back " ( 1980 ).

Christian eschatology is concerned with death, an intermediate state, Heaven, hell, the return of Jesus, the resurrection of the dead, for several evangelical denominations, a rapture, a great tribulation, the Millennium, end of the world, the last judgment, a new heaven and a new earth ( the World to Come ), and the ultimate consummation of all of God's purposes.
