Craig Lemon from Comics Bulletin criticized the plot, arguing that too many people now know of Batman's secret identity, opining that the story was not very gripping, and that Batman was depicted as inept for not being prepared for a situation as basic as someone cutting his batline.

Dominic Organ from Comics Bulletin was critical of the artwork stating it was " incredibly spotty in places ," inconsistent and " at times it is downright ugly.

' Comics Bulletin were highly favourable to the series, stating that ' It is a rare comic book that is able to breathe new life into a stale genre, and yet that is precisely what District X has managed to do ... District X is more than just a traditional superhero comic, establishing itself as an entertaining blend of action, crime noir and social commentary.

Various incarnations of the publication ( which were published quarterly to bi-monthly, and eventually monthly ) included Overstreet's Comic Book Price Update, Overstreet's Comics Price Bulletin, Overstreet Comic Book Monthly, and Overstreet's Fan, with this last incarnation showing a great deal of similarity to the successful comics news magazine Wizard: The Guide to Comics.

Instead of reviewing music videos, they reviewed ( custom-made ) pages from other Marvel Comics — in one with Ghost Rider, Beavis tries to avoid using the word " fire " to describe the character's fiery skull.

Wheeler-Nicholson's third and final title, Detective Comics, advertised with a cover illustration dated December 1936, eventually premiered three months late with a March 1937 cover date.
