Adolescent Radioactive Black Belt Hamsters, written by Don Chin and originally illustrated by Patrick Parsons ( under the name Parsonavich ) and Chris Walker, and later by Sam Kieth, initially published by Eclipse Comics and later on by Parody Press and then Dynamite Entertainment, was the first unofficial spoof of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles.

The story has been reprinted, in both hard and softcover, with Detective Comics # 784-786 – a storyline entitled " Made of Wood " ( pairing Batman with the Green Lantern Alan Scott ,) also written by Brubaker with art by Patrick Zircher.

Marvel Comics did a brief comic version of Gullivar of Mars during the early 1970s, possibly as a reaction to DC gaining the rights to publish Burroughs ' John Carter during this time.
