The situation is only seemingly different in the case of such late classical works as Beethoven's Fourth and Fifth Piano Concertos, where the soloist is heard at the outset: as the later unfolding of those movements makes clear, the opening piano solo or early piano flourishes actually precede the start of the exposition proper.
Each volume focused on a certain genre of orchestral or choral music ( for example, Volumes I and II were devoted to ' Symphonies '; Volume III to ' Concertos '), with perhaps two or three dozen works discussed with the help of plentiful music examples.

In 1957 this group also recorded two of Vivaldi's Concertos for Four Harpsichords, one in a Bach arrangement, with the Pro Arte Orchestra under Boris Ord.
There were also recordings of four of Bach's two and three Keyboard Concertos, issued by Columbia, under the baton of Eugene Ormandy, Pierre Deveux and Edmund de Stoutz.
Klami also experimented with the symphonic form in his two Symphonies ( 1938 and 1945 ) and Symphonie enfantine ( 1927 ), and the concerto form in his two Piano Concertos ( No. 1 Une nuit à Montmartre and No. 2 for Piano and Strings ) and the Violin Concerto ( 1943 ).
