Indeed the only major changes in the town's basic layout have been the bridging over of the original railroad crossing in 1937, and the extension and widening of Connecticut Avenue, the town's main thoroughfare, in 1957.

Connecticut Transit operates several bus routes through the neighborhood, such as the 50 and 52, which run on Blue Hills Avenue, the 56 and 58, which run up on Albany Avenue and Bloomfield Avenue, the 74, which runs through Westbrook Village on its way to Copaco Shopping Center via Granby Street, and the 76, which runs on Cornwall Street towards Bowles Park.

* Connecticut Avenue

The Nichols Avenue portion in Trumbull was completed in 1696, making it the third oldest documented highway in Connecticut.

During the summer of 1936, Lenya, Paul Green, Cheryl Crawford and her husband rented an old house at 277 Trumbull Avenue in Nichols, Connecticut, about two miles from Pine Brook Country Club, which was the summer rehearsal headquarters of the Group Theatre.

The traffic circle is located at the intersection of Massachusetts Avenue NW, Connecticut Avenue NW, New Hampshire Avenue NW, P Street NW, and 19th Street NW.

In 1872, the British built a new embassy on Connecticut Avenue, at N Street NW.

By the 1920s, Connecticut Avenue was more commercial in character, with numerous shops.

The Connecticut River, Thames River, and ports along the Long Island Sound have given the state a strong maritime tradition, which continues today.

This area of the state continues to remain underpopulated in contrast to other portions of Connecticut, and accordingly, portions of the original post road have been preserved due to various circumstances.

As it enters Greenwich, Connecticut, it continues as a two lane local road.

The interstate's southern end is in New Haven, Connecticut at Interstate 95 ; its northern end is at Derby Line, Vermont, a village in the town of Derby, at the Canadian border, where it continues as Autoroute 55.

The structure continues to host the Bradley offices of the Connecticut State Police and is used for storage.

At New Haven, the Shore Line East connecting service, run by Connecticut, continues east to New London.

The parkway continues south from the Bruckner Interchange as the Whitestone Expressway ( Interstate 678 or I-678 ) and north into Greenwich, Connecticut, as the Merritt Parkway.

The society continues to run the zoo as a private, nonprofit institution with assistance from the state of Connecticut and the city of Bridgeport.

The Quinnipiac Trail — the oldest trail in the blue blazed trail system managed by the Connecticut Forest and Park Association — traverses the length of the Giant from the Quinnipiac River west over the Giant's high points to the Mill River then continues north over West Rock Ridge and Mount Sanford.

It begins at the Pelham Parkway interchange ( exit 8 ) in the Co-Op City section of the Bronx and continues northeastward into Westchester County to the Connecticut state line, where it connects to the Connecticut Turnpike.

U. S. Route 3 ( US 3 ) is a north – south United States highway that runs from its southern terminus in Cambridge, Massachusetts, through New Hampshire to its terminus near Third Connecticut Lake at the Canadian border, where the road continues north as Quebec Route 257.

Route 41 continues into Connecticut up to the town of Sharon.

Because of both its rural beauty and its relative proximity to New York City, the area has been and continues to be home to many famous or wealthy residents, including Mia Farrow, Meryl Streep, Dustin Hoffman, Denis Leary, Kevin Bacon, and is also sometimes referred to as the Hamptons of Connecticut.

The route is about long and begins at Connecticut Route 2 in Stonington, crossing into Rhode Island at the Pawcatuck River, where it continues as an expressway to U. S. Route 1 in Westerly.

It then continues into the town of Westminster before joining the Connecticut River at Westminster, just south of the Rockingham town line.

The most culturally notable and physically evident exception to the general lack of significant passenger rail transport in the U. S. has been, and continues to be, the Northeast Corridor, which connects Washington and New York City with Boston and, jutting from those northern points, also other areas of Connecticut and Massachusetts.

The western terminus of Route 25 is at the Vermont state line on the Connecticut River in Piermont, where the road continues west as Vermont Route 25.

The western terminus of NH 25A is at the Vermont state line on the Connecticut River in the town of Orford, where the route continues west as the short Vermont Route 25A.

MD 185 northbound at Howard Avenue in Kensington, Maryland | KensingtonMD 185 begins at Chevy Chase Circle on the border of Washington, D. C. Connecticut Avenue continues south into the Chevy Chase neighborhood of the District of Columbia on the south side of the circle, while Western Avenue intersects the east and west sides of the circle.

Just west of the station platforms the Amtrak Springfield line immediately curves to the south while the CSX Boston Line continues on to cross the Connecticut River on a twin truss bridge.

Connecticut Avenue, now simply a local street, continues past Georgia Avenue and ends at Leisure World Boulevard.

While the Taconic State Parkway continues along the northwest heading Route 22 had been following, Route 22 itself veers to the northeast along the reservoir's south shore towards a short concurrency with NY 120, just north of IBM's Armonk headquarters and the " Duke's Trees angle ", the westernmost point in Connecticut.
