The dying Edmund decides, though he admits it is against his own character, to try and save Lear and Cordelia: however, he is too late.

When Cordelia decides she needs to break up to preserve her social status, Xander coerces witch Amy Madison ( Elizabeth Anne Allen ) to cast a love spell, which misfires ; Cordelia is unaffected but, seeing how much Xander loves her, reunites with him in defiance of her former friends, in " Bewitched, Bothered and Bewildered ".

Xander decides to blackmail Amy into helping him perform a love spell on Cordelia Chase, however, the spell goes awry and causes the entire female population of Sunnydale, sans Cordelia, to become psychotically obsessed with Xander.

The narrative revolves around a " cultural exchange " event at Sunnydale High, involving a museum exhibit, a dance, and foreign exchange students, two of whom stay with Buffy and Cordelia.
