English-language operettas were first composed in England in the 1860s — for example, Arthur Sullivan's Cox and Box ( 1866 ).

It was preceded by a performance of Morton's Cox and Box.

In 1866, Sullivan composed his first one-act comic opera, Cox and Box, which is still widely performed.

His first surviving opera, Cox and Box ( 1866 ), was originally written for a private performance.

Carte had conducted Sullivan's Cox and Box.

On tour in 1871, Carte conducted Cox and Box by composer Arthur Sullivan and dramatist F. C. Burnand, in tandem with English adaptations of two Offenbach pieces, called Rose of Auvergne and Breaking the Spell, in which Carte's client Selina Dolaro appeared.

Meanwhile, Sullivan's popular 1867 opera, Cox and Box, had been revived at the Gaiety Theatre in 1874, and Carte had already asked him to write a piece for the Royalty.

" Grossmith also performed in charity events, including as Bouncer in Cox and Box in 1879 at the Opera Comique.

F. C. Burnand collaborated with several composers, including Arthur Sullivan in Cox and Box, to write several comic operas on English themes in the 1860s and 1870s.

Lorenc + Yoo Design is located in historic Mill Village in Roswell, Georgia and has collaborative associations with Journey Communications Inc of Philadelphia where they handle their trade show exhibits, and with Box & Cox of Seoul, Korea with whom they handle their Asian opportunities and are currently working in Korea and Japan.

In 1867, however, the Adelphi gave English comic opera a boost by hosting the first public performance of Arthur Sullivan's first opera, Cox and Box.

On 27 February 1982 the Adelphi hosted the final night of the D ' Oyly Carte Opera Company for a concert performance of songs from all thirteen Savoy Operas as well as Cox and Box and Thespis.

The theme of Ernest ( and then Rudolph ) being legally dead while still physically alive was used in earlier works by Gilbert and, separately by Sullivan, for example Tom Cobb ( 1875 ) and Cox and Box ( 1867 ).

Professor Cox also received the Paul Douglas Ethics in Government Award and the Thomas " Tip " O ' Neill Citizenship Award.

The citation on the award reads “ In particular, this award recognizes your great achievement in creating the Geography Markup Language, ( GML ), and your uniquely sensitive and effective work to promote the reconciliation of national differences to promote meaningful standardization of GML on a global level .” Simon Cox ( CSIRO ) and Clemens Portele ( Interactive Instruments ) also subsequently received the Gardels award, in part for their contributions to GML.

The year 2008 saw a decreased availability for MTV2, as both the Comcast cable service and Cox cable service moved the channel from their widely received analog cable services to a digital cable line-up.

In March 1821 Melville Cox was licensed to preach by the Kennebec District Conference, and received his first appointment in 1822.
