Following Oskay's departure, Scottish fiddler Johnny Cunningham, a former member of Silly Wizard who had played with Tríona and Mícheál in the band Relativity, took over Oskay's duties.

Cunningham split the writing duties with Sumner and Evans on the band's debut album, Never Cry Another Tear.

Cunningham once again changed direction, becoming more interested in the human form, particularly hands, and she was fascinated with the hands of artists and musicians.

But perhaps the most memorable music in Strangers is the calliope music heard first at the fairground and again, later, when Bruno is strangling Mrs. Cunningham at Senator Morton's soirée and experiences his unfortunate flashback and subsequent fainting spell.

Cunningham stood against him a second time at the 1987 General election when Smith again defeated him.

In 1954, Fitch drove for Cunningham in a Cunningham C4R, and also Ferraris and again a Mercedes-Benz 300 SL.

In 1960, Fitch and Briggs Cunningham joined the Corvette team as drivers to race once again at Sebring and Le Mans.

Cunningham yet again retained her seat in the 2009 state election, despite a 4 % swing to Labor.

Meanwhile the pursuing forces had closed up and Major Johnston with Trooper Anlezark came again to parley, calling down the leaders Cunningham and Johnston from the hill.

Cunningham joined Electronic as a touring guitarist, working again with Marr and Bernard Sumner from New Order as they promoted their third album Twisted Tenderness.

Cunningham and Harding resurrected Marion in 2006, and despite some well received live shows and releasing an EP of new material, they disbanded again in 2008 as a result of health issues within the band.

In 2011, Marion once again reconvened, with Grantham and bassist Julian Phillips joining Cunningham and Harding, with Jack Mitchell ( formerly of Haven ) on drums.

In 2001, Cunningham joined New Order, once again as a touring musician as replacement for Gillian Gilbert who had stepped back from live commitments in order to care for her children.
