The Demographics of Cyprus is about the demographic features of the population of Cyprus, including population growth, population density, ethnicity, education level, health, economic status, religious affiliations, and other aspects of the population.

Internationally, Cyprus promotes its geographical location as a " bridge " between East and West, along with its educated English-speaking population, moderate local costs, good airline connections, and telecommunications.

In the aftermath of the Greco-Turkish War ( 1919 – 1922 ), a large-scale population exchange between Greece and Turkey transferred and confined Christians from Turkey, except Constantinople ( effectively ethnic Greeks ) into the borders of the modern Greek state and Cyprus.

Cyprus and the Dodecanese were not included in the Greco-Turkish population transfer of 1923 because they were under direct British and Italian control respectively.

That same year, Byzantine troops under Niketas Chalkoutzes occupy Cyprus, liberating the Greek population from Arab control.

Limassol or Lemesos (, Lemesós ;, ) is the second-largest city in Cyprus, with a population of 235, 056 ( 2011 ).

The Cyprus population became extinct in the early 1950s.

Palmers Green today is home to the largest population of Greek and Turkish Cypriots outside of Cyprus, and, as such, is often nicknamed " Little Cyprus " or " Palmers Greek ".

More recently, the rise of internet-based communication services as well as cell phones have caused a distinctive form of Greek written partially, and sometimes fully in Latin characters to emerge ; this is known as Greeklish, a form that has spread across the Greek diaspora and even to the two countries with majority Greek population, Cyprus and Greece.

Since gaining independence from the United Kingdom in 1960, Cyprus has had a record of successful economic performance, reflected in strong growth, full employment conditions and relative stability.

In 2004 the Annan Plan for Cyprus was put to vote but whilst it was accepted by the north, it was rejected by the Greek-Cypriots as it meant in their eyes, endorsing a confederal state with a weak central government and considerable local autonomy.
