In addition to automobiles, Daimler manufactures buses and provides financial services through its Daimler Financial Services arm.

With its “ Shaping Future Transportation ” initiative, Daimler is pursuing hybrid propulstion for buses as well.

The Daimler-Hyundai Truck Corporation was a joint venture established between Daimler AG and Hyundai Motor Company in 2000 to produce high-tech middle-range trucks and buses in the Korean market beginning in 2004.

Daimler Trucks uses such a system for most of its full-hybrid commercial vehicles, including in the Mitsubishi Fuso Canter Eco Hybrid, while series hybrids are reserved for urban buses, where they work most efficiently.

Production of Daimler buses in Coventry ceased in 1973 when production of its last bus product ( the Daimler Fleetline ) was transferred to Leyland plant in Farington.

Elaborate ESC and ESP systems ( including Roll Stability Control ( RSC )) are available for many commercial vehicles, including transport trucks, trailers, and buses from manufacturers such as Bendix Corporation, WABCO Daimler, Scania AB, and Prevost, and light passenger vehicles.

On April 25, 2012, MCI announced a minority stake with Daimler AG to produce Setra buses for the North American market as Daimler reconfigures its bus operations in North America.

620 prefabricated Rivalloy ( the brand name comes from rivetted ( aluminium ) alloy ) single deck buses components for local assembly were sold to Autobuses Modernos SA, Cuba which later became Omnibus Metropolitanos, S. A. Another large customer was Auckland Regional Transport in New Zealand who took the Rivalloy body on 90 Daimler Freeline chassis.

Through the 1970s Unitrans added eight former London Transport RT type double-deck buses, and in the early 1980s Unitrans added two Daimler Fleetline double-deck buses that had previously operated in Yorkshire, a county in northern England.

Kowloon Motor Bus received 20 Daimler CVG5 double-decker buses in 1949 as a trial ( one of the first 4 buses introduced had been preserved by KMB after withdrawal in early 1980s ).

Daimler and his lifelong business partner Wilhelm Maybach were two inventors whose goal was to create small, high-speed engines to be mounted in any kind of locomotion device.

Other notable straight-8-powered automobiles were built by Daimler, Mercedes-Benz, Isotta-Fraschini, Alfa Romeo, Stutz, Stearns-Knight and Packard.

Simms ' documented plans to manufacture Daimler motors and Daimler Motor Carriages ( in Cheltenham ) were taken over, together with his company and its Daimler licences, by London company-promoter H J Lawson.

All the Daimler shares were purchased from BSA by Jaguar Cars in 1960.

They so much became fleet standard that the tin-front was replicated in glass reinforced plastic by ECT, and fitted to Guy Arab II and Daimler CV chassis, as well as a preceding batch of all-Leyland PD2 / 12s, even extending its use to ancillary vehicles such as gritting lorries converted from Arab III single-deckers.
