Farme Cross is one of the Boundary Areas of the Royal Burgh and is surrounded by the River Clyde and the City of Glasgow ( Dalmarnock ).

There is a great many monuments and attractions here including a series of Standing Stones to commemorate the boundary stones of the old Royal Burgh and another monument near the bridge to Dalmarnock in Glasgow.

Local trains from Glasgow Central on the Argyle Line serve Dalmarnock railway station, which is about 10 minutes walking distance from the ground.

It is double track throughout, with a grade-separated junction comprising the Finnieston East and West Junctions ; eastwards from there the route dives underground and is sub-surface as far as Dalmarnock station.

It is bounded by Glasgow Green to the west, Dalmarnock to the east and south and Calton to the north-west at Abercromby Street / London Road.

From 1918 the constituency consisted of " That portion of the city which is bounded by a line commencing at a point on the municipal boundary about 299 yards north-westward from the centre of Carntyne Road, at a point where the municipal boundary intersects that road, thence eastward, south-eastward and westward along the municipal boundary to the centre of the Caledonian Railway Branch Line from Rutherglen to Dalmarnock, thence northward along the centre line of the said railway until it, joins the Caledonian Railway ( Glasgow Lines ), thence northward, north-eastward, northward and north-eastward along the centre line of the last-mentioned railway to a point 380 yards south of the centre line of Cumbernauld Road, thence south-eastward to the point, of commencement.

Dalmarnock () is a district in the Scottish city of Glasgow.

There is a bridge over the River Clyde on Dalmarnock Road called Dalmarnock Bridge.

There is still the petrol station on Dalmarnock Road and the Car Wash.

There is a Dalmarnock Primary School, however, it is situated, unlike the name suggests, in the Bridgeton area of the East End of Glasgow and should not be counted in the schools list for the area.

It is one of three such facilities in the city, along with Dalmarnock and Daldowie.

This has been a welcome sight for the area residents as the nearest shops are either Bridgeton, the Tesco on Dalmarnock Road or The Forge in Parkhead.

The Clyde Gateway project proposes a lot of development here to create a new Cuningar Park connecting across the River Clyde to the City of Glasgow ( Dalmarnock ) and the proposed Commonwealth Games village.

Dalglish, the son of an engineer, was born in Dalmarnock in the East End of Glasgow, and was brought up in Milton in the north of Glasgow.

The Representation of the People Act 1948 provided that the constituency was to consist of the Calton and Dalmarnock wards of the City of Glasgow.

The Parliamentary Constituencies ( Scotland ) Order 1970 provided that the constituency was to consist of " The following wards of the county of the city of Glasgow, namely, Calton and Dalmarnock and that part of Mile-End ward which lies to the west of a line commencing at a point on the northern boundary of the ward immediately opposite the centre line of Millerston Street ; thence southward to and along the centre line of Millerston Street to the centre line of Gallowgate ; thence eastward along the centre line of Gallowgate to a point opposite the centre line of Fielden Street ; thence southward along the centre line of Fielden Street to the termination of the line on the southern boundary of the Mile-End ward opposite the centre of Fielden Street.

Three of the remaining Clydeside cranes were built by the Glasgow firm of Sir William Arrol & Co. at their Dalmarnock Ironworks in Dunn Street and Parkhead Crane Works in Rigby Street.

Victorian sandstone tenements in Ardenlea Street, Dalmarnock that were originally renovated as part of the GEAR ( Glasgow East Area Renewal ) scheme in the late 1970s, have seen their residents systematically rehoused in recent years, thus being allowed to fall into a dilapidated state once more.

Dalmarnock now, August 2011, has no housing on Ardenlea St / Sunnybank St side of the area, due to the construction in the area pertaining to the Commonwealth Games and City Legacy.

Dalmarnock Train Station will be getting an overhaul due to the Commonwealth Games.

At Dalmarnock Junction, trains diverge northwards to enter the infrastructure of the Argyle Line, diving underground after Dalmarnock station.

The famous Dalmarnock Ironworks was closed and demolished in 1986 but at least seven of their Giant Cantilever Cranes are still in existence.

The first bridge in the area was a wooden one erected in 1821 to connect Rutherglen and Dalmarnock.

It was replaced by a new timber bridge in 1841 and in 1891 by the current Dalmarnock Bridge, designed by the engineers Crouch & Hogg.

The company was eventually taken over by Clarke Chapman in 1969 and the Dalmarnock Works closed in 1986.

There was also a large coal-fired power station located near Dalmarnock Bridge.

Most of the Victorian red-sandstone tenements on Dalmarnock Road and Springfield Road were demolished in the ' 60s and early ' 70s, although some were renovated.
