Athanasius ' letters include one " Letter Concerning the Decrees of the Council of Nicaea " ( De Decretis ), which is an account of the proceedings of that council, and another letter in the year 367 which was the first known listing of the New Testament including all those books now accepted everywhere as the New Testament.

Bede's account of the invasion of the Anglo-Saxons is drawn largely from Gildas's De Excidio et Conquestu Britanniae.

Explanations along this line have been traced to at least one contemporary, Reguier de la Plancha ( d. 1560 ), who in De l ' Estat de France offered the following account as to the origin of the name, as cited by The Cape Monthly:

The oldest practical rebreather relates to the 1849 patent from the Frenchman Pierre Aimable De Saint Simon Sicard.

Plutarch's De Genio Socratis relates an elaborate dream-vision concerning the cosmos and the afterlife that was supposedly received at Trophonius's oracle.

De Nerval relates the story as having been told in an Eastern coffee house over a two week period.

De Vega's title relates to the parallel European idiom current in Dutch, Danish, German, French, Portuguese and Italian as well.

There is a story which relates that the first De Marisco, who resided here, was a Norman knight who had travelled to the Holy Land to take part in a Crusade against the Saracen invaders.

Slawkenbergius is primarily known for his scholarly writings in Neo-Latin, particularly his lengthy monograph De Nasis (" On Noses "), which purports to explain different types and significances of noses, particularly as it relates to human character.
