Sue Dibny, the wife of superhero Elongated Man, is murdered in their apartment, apparently dying of burns ( the Elongated Man was at the time on a stakeout, during which a minor character called Bolt is shot and wounded by criminals ).

In this world she and Hank are good friends with Elongated Man and his wife Sue Dibny.

Identity Crisis was parodied in the six-part limited series Ambush Bug: Year None ( July 2008 – January 2009 ), with ersatz " hero " Ambush Bug contacting Jean Loring and advising her of the surprise party for Ralph Dibny.

Despite his more ruthless nature as of late, Captain Cold's heart is not completely frozen, evidenced by having sent flowers to honor Sue Dibny, murdered wife of the Elongated Man.

The character appeared continually in minor roles until the 2004 storyline Identity Crisis, in which she suffered a mental breakdown and murdered Sue Dibny, wife of the Elongated Man.

Using one of Ray's old costumes, she shrinks herself and enters the brain of Sue Dibny ( the Elongated Man's wife ).

After some time missing, he is shown attending the funeral of Sue Dibny, wife of the Elongated Man.
