In his six years with Dio, Tracy G was featured on two studio albums ( Strange Highways and Angry Machines ) and one live album ( Inferno: Last in Live ).

In their short time they created three albums of music, toured with several famous bands, including Mötley Crüe, Heart, Aerosmith, Ronnie James Dio, Van Halen, Bryan Adams, and Whitesnake, but in the end could not sustain their own career.

The album was originally planned to be the first part of a trilogy of concept albums, and shortly before beginning his tour with Heaven & Hell, Dio announced that he planned to start the Magica II & III album after the tour's end, but he died shortly after of stomach cancer on May 16, 2010.

He founded the band Burning Rain with Keith St. John in 1998 and has played previously with the bands Dio, Lion, Hurricane, House of Lords, and Bad Moon Rising.

In 1982, disagreements over the mixing of Live Evil led to Dio and Appice quitting the band to form the band Dio.

In 1980, Dio sang the tracks " To Live for the King " and " Mask of the Great Deceiver " on Kerry Livgren's solo album Seeds of Change.

Live at Last was also significant in that its initial release in 1980 prompted Black Sabbath to finally record their first official live album, 1982's Live Evil with Ronnie James Dio.
