The Venus of Dolní Věstonice () is a Venus figurine, a ceramic statuette of a nude female figure dated to 29, 000 – 25, 000 BCE ( Gravettian industry ), which was found at a Paleolithic site in the Moravian basin south of Brno.

The Battle of Wisternitz or Dolní Věstonice was fought on August 5, 1619 between a Moravian force under Friedrich von Tiefenbach ( Teuffenbach ) and an Austrian army under Dampierre.
However, Dampierre was defeated at Dolní Věstonice () by Moravian forces under von Tiefenbach ( brother of Rudolf von Tiefenbach ) and Ladislav Velen ze Žerotína in August 1619, which left Moravia in the Bohemian camp.

In addition to the Venus figurine, figures of animals – bear, lion, mammoth, horse, fox, rhino and owl – and more than 2, 000 balls of burnt clay have been found at Dolní Věstonice.

These sites were used by mammoth hunters, and finds include a triple burial and the Venus of Dolní Věstonice.
