The two central wards ( Central I and Central II ) make up Central Freetown which includes Downtown Freetown and the central business district ( Central II ).

It was first called " St. Mary's College ", then eventually split into two instiutions, Central Catholic High School ( Still present in Downtown San Antonio ) and St. Mary's University.

South Miami's central business district is directly served by the Miami Metrorail at the South Miami station on Sunset Drive, connecting the suburb to downtown Kendall, Downtown Miami, and Miami Central Station at Miami International Airport.

Central Park Plaza, ( Lincolnway and Lafayette St ) – is the centerpiece of the Downtown Valparaiso revitalization and opened the summer of 2011.

Downtown Spokane contains many of the cities public facilities, including City Hall, Riverfront Park ( site of Expo ' 74 ), the Spokane Convention and INB Performing Arts Center, the Spokane Arena as well as the Spokane County Courthouse across the river in the West Central neighborhood.

Los Angeles's Skid Row in an area of Downtown Los Angeles, formally known as Central City East, has one of the largest stable populations of transient persons ( homeless ) in the United States.

The Central Loop ( CL ) Line, which opened September 22, 2012, runs from Downtown to the Oregon Museum of Science and Industry via the Pearl District, the Broadway Bridge across Willamette River, the Lloyd District, and Central Eastside Industrial District.

Central to the Downtown Yonge business improvement area, the square is owned by the city and is the first public square in Canada to be maintained through a public-private partnership.

Among these are North End ( once known as " Atlanticville "), Branchport, Beachfront North and South ( including Pier Village, adjacent to the site of the former Long Branch Pier at the foot of Laird Street ), Downtown, Uptown, West End and Elberon.

This is 3 miles southwest of the South Texas Medical Center, 8 miles west of Uptown San Antonio, and 10 miles northwest of Downtown San Antonio.
