Dr. Watson seeks the help of Sigmund Freud, who uncovers the truth behind Holmes ' perception of " the Napoleon of Crime ".

After World War II Dr. Kurt Eissler ( 1909 – 1999 ) and a small group of psychoanalysts who knew Sigmund Freud personally, including Heinz Hartmann, Ernst Kris, Bertram Lewin and Hermann Nunberg, decided to preserve Freud's letters and papers in a single archive.

Published as a " lost manuscript " of the late Dr. John H. Watson, the book recounts Holmes ' recovery from cocaine addiction ( with the help of Sigmund Freud ) and his subsequent prevention of a European war through the unravelling of a sinister kidnapping plot.

In his autobiography, Dr. Moreno recalls this encounter with Sigmund Freud in 1912.

Becoming ill with what was diagnosed in 1928 as adiposis dolorosa, " Dercum's Disease ", and despite several treatments including stays at Dr. Dengler's Sanatorium in Baden Baden, Germany and a few sessions with Sigmund Freud in 1929, Bryant continued efforts to be a wife, mother, and writer.

On a crisp day in the fall of 1931, Dr. Saul Silberstein, a student of Sigmund Freud who was doing post doctorate work on his book, Jewish Village Mannerisms came into the Goldberg cobbler workshop to have his shoes repaired.

One principal document which made it possible to recreate with a great deal of accuracy the contents of Generalplan Ost is a memo of April 27, 1942 entitled Stellungnahme und Gedanken zum Generalplan Ost des Reichsführers SS (" Opinion and Ideas Regarding the General Plan for the East of the Reichsführer-SS ") and written by Dr. Erich Wetzel, the director of the Central Advisory Office on Questions of Racial Policy of the Nazi Party ( Leiter der Hauptstelle Beratungsstelle des Rassenpolitischen Amtes der NSDAP ).

Kappler's superior, SS Brigadeführer und Generalmajor der Polizei Dr. Wilhelm Harster suggested making up the numbers from the 57 Jews also in Nazi custody.
