These technological advances led to the building of later structures like the Brooklyn Bridge ( 1883 ) and the Eiffel Tower ( 1889 ).

The railway Chişinău-Iaşi was opened on June 1, 1875 in preparation for the Russo-Turkish War ( 1877 – 1878 ) and the Eiffel Bridge was opened on, just three days before the outbreak of the war.

During the following years, Hackett performed a number of jumps from bridges and other structures ( including the Eiffel Tower ), building public interest in the sport, and opening the world's first permanent commercial bungee site ; the Kawarau Bridge Bungy at Queenstown in the South Island of New Zealand.

A special committee, led by Gustave Eiffel, awarded a gold medal to Lavr Proskuryakov's project for the Yenisei Bridge in Krasnoyarsk.

The Downtown Skyline features various skyscrapers such as the World Trade Center, Sears Tower, Chrysler Building, Empire State Building, IDS Center, MetLife Building, Sydney Opera House, the Hollywood sign, the Golden Gate Bridge, the Fernsehturm Berlin, Big Ben, Red Square, the Statue of Liberty, the Eiffel Tower and many other landmarks.

Between 1885 and 1887 the company had built the Maria Pia Bridge over the Douro at Porto, and when it was proposed to construct a railway between Marvejols and Neussargues in the Cantal department the work of constructing a viaduct to cross the River Truyère was given to Eiffel without the usual process of competitive tendering at the recommendation of the engineers of the state Highways Department since the technical problems involved were similar to those of the Maria Pia Bridge ; indeed, it was Eiffel & Cie's success with this project that had led to the proposal for a viaduct at Garabit.

Two bridges connect Tui and Valença: Tui International Bridge ( known in Portugal as Valença International Bridge ), completed in 1878 under the direction of Gustave Eiffel, and a modern one from the 1990s.
