Korean scholar Kim Yong Woon claims that Japan was a tributary of ancient Korea, and Emperor Keitai was the younger brother of a Korean King.

The Chinese princess Jincheng Gongzhu (: zh: 金城公主 ) (?- 739 ), the " real daughter " of the king of Yong, and an adoptive daughter of Emperor Zhongzong of Tang ( r. 705-710 ), was sent to Tibet in 710 where, according to most sources, she married Mes-ag-tshoms, who would have been only six or seven years old at the time.

Before his death, he asked Emperor Yong Le that ( 1 ) Brunei and Sungai Kinabatangan be made ( or annexed as ) Chinese territories, ( 2 ) named Gunung Kinabalu, and ( 3 ) that he himself be buried in China.

In 1412, he paid tribute to Emperor Yong Le.

A fragment of the ' Stone Classics ' ( 熹平石經 ); these stone-carved Five Classics installed during Emperor Ling of Han | Emperor Ling's reign along the roadside of the Taixue | Imperial University ( right outside Luoyang ) were made at the instigation of Cai Yong ( 132 – 192 CE ), who feared the Classics housed in the imperial library were being Interpolation ( manuscripts ) | interpolated by University Academicians.

According to half historian and half writer Jin Yong, Hong Taiji had the broad and wise views of Qin Shi Huang, Emperor Gaozu of Han, Emperor Guangwu of Han, Emperor Wen of Sui, Emperor Taizong of Tang, Emperor Taizu of Song, Kublai Khan, the Hongwu Emperor, and the Yongle Emperor.

In 756, the ( 3rd or 4th ) son of Xuanzong, Li Heng, was proclaimed Emperor Suzong at Lingzhou ( modern-day Lingwu ), although another group of local officials and Confucian literati tried to promote a different prince, Li Lin, the Prince of Yong, at Jinling ( modern-day Nanjing ).

* Liu Yong ( 劉永 ), also claiming to be the proper emperor of Han, based on his lineage — as the son of Liu Li ( 劉立 ), the Prince of Liang under the reigns of Emperor Cheng, Emperor Ai, and Emperor Ping who had been forced by Wang Mang to commit suicide ; he controlled the modern eastern Henan and northern Jiangsu region.

In 302, Sima Yong, claiming that the Emperor had secretly ordered him to fight Sima Jiong ( his second cousin once removed ), rose in rebellion and marched towards Luoyang.

He had expected Sima Ai to lose, thus allowing Sima Yong to enter Luoyang, kill Sima Jiong, replace Emperor Hui with the Prince of Chengdu, Sima Ying ( Emperor Hui's and Ai's brother and Sima Yong's second cousin once removed ), and appoint himself as Prime Minister.

Sima Ying fled with Emperor Hui to Luoyang, which was then occupied by Sima Yong.

Sima Yong took possession of Emperor Hui ( his second cousin once removed ), moved him to Chang ' an, and stripped Sima Ying of his position as heir.

Sima Yong attempted to deprive Sima Yue of legitimacy by officially stripping him of all titles, but in response Sima Yue claimed that he was " rescuing the Emperor from his kidnappers and returning him to Luoyang ".

As part of the accession rituals, Emperor Huai issued an edict ordering Sima Yong to come to court as Minister over the Masses.
